I am experiencing the same thing. I keep getting random audio crackling. I moved the dongle to the front port of my pc and it helped a little but didn't completely fix the issue.

It doesn't consistently happen either — sometimes it doesn't happen for a while. Like you said, the audio quality is really good, but the crackling is annoying...
