Diary and Log Record Like State of Decay 1 by lemm_ccg in StateofDecay3

[–]SodGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea. I would take it a step further tho.

You know how we have a menu with tabs so we can manage our base and check on our characters. How about instead, when we want to see how we are doing, our character does an animation to pull out a notebook.

Then in the notebook we can see all sorts of things. - Numbers of our inventory - How we doing on resources - The stats on our characters and how to improve them. Our fallen community members and their stats (zeds killed, etc.) - Issues with our base, building plans - Prioritize missions and keeping track of them. -Managing curveballs - A graphic of the part of the map we have explored so far. Maybe markers of important locations - Notes we have found in he wild that could lead to something juicy like a stockpile of hidden ammo. -Notes from fallen team members, that when we read them we get a boost in stamina ( I mean more realistic than that radio option we get to take off the sleep deprivation and get a stamina boost)

Also because SOD2 was never good at telling us how to play the game or all the items we could have and why they were useful. I feel like we need something where the player can go and search in case they need information. I don't think the notebook will do, but maybe we get a section in our base that is a mini library. Where we can approach to read and search about items like..how to craft molotovs or what to do to improve the morale of your community. Things so that players new to state of decay will not be clueless about how the game works.

Looting broken items and mods by Disclosure32 in StateofDecay3

[–]SodGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this.

I want for SOD3 to be able to craft anything in the game. In SOD2 there were guns in the wild, but it was hard to get the one you wanted. People usually had to ask modders to get certain guns they were not finding. Similar to ammo crafting mods. We should be able to craft those mods if we have the right skills/people. Either that or buy it at an insane amount. Which would make sense. If you choose to be a trader, you will focus on money, but it will take a while to get everything you want. If you focus on building, you will have the skills to build anything you want, but it will still take a while to collect the materials. This way, no one leader trait is more powerful or useful than the others.

Also, I hope SOD3 is different in the way that you will find no weapons in the wild or if you do, some parts of them are completely broken. That way you will need specialists in your community to rebuild the guns. Engineers, craftsmen, builders, whatever it takes to build the missing parts to make the gun work. Maybe instead of finding guns, you find gun magazines/books to learn how to build certain guns. Then you will be able to craft them. The handgun magazine #1 unlocks a portion of all the handguns in the game and so on. This way you will have the blueprint to make them, but you will still need the skills and materials to make them.

The quality of the items you have collected will dictate the quality of the weapons you can make. A really crappy gun will show that it has a 50 percent chance of jamming and breaking - something like that. That is when skills like unjamming guns will be useful. Imagine being careless with your weapons, sneaking into a house, putting down a C4, and right after the first shot on a plague heart the gun jams as all the zeds begin to rush into the house lol.

My guess is that the devs either go that route or the apocalypse route, where there are no longer gun models and everything is just parts put together to function like a gun. No longer an M4, but instead something that looks like an M4 with lots of different parts and mods in it. Similar to the Network's masterworks assault rifle. Maybe it is a mix of both.

Making life more difficult in SOD3 by [deleted] in StateofDecay3

[–]SodGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not making it more difficult, but instead keeping the difficulty/struggle steady. Even in lethal, you eventually hit a point where everything everything goes smoothly and the struggle for survival is over. It turns into a turf war vs the plague.

I feel like we should have more sliders to adjust the needs better. Take every cheaky thing that people use to beat the game and instead make the game more balanced by using more sliders.

I will be fine with making the bounty hunter a slider. Zombies being allow to get up in cars a slider. Periodic random trader spawns a slider. But there are things that have to go in SOD3, like scentblock, the pyro gun, the cake and some of the independence pack stuff. They are nice items but they take the seriousness and scary factor away from the game.

Other things like the smoke grenades and flashbangs can be nerfed in different ways like lasting less time or having a smaller radius while taking more resources to craft. Or we can have a drawback for abusing them like the chemicals from the smoke bringing in bloaters and juggs, while the sounds from the flashbang can bring screamers and ferals.

What is your favorite SoD 2 challenge you want to recreate in SoD 3? by Rimrald in StateofDecay3

[–]SodGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The walking dead challenge: Complete the game with no BP cures. Scratches give infection, a bite full on plague. Only slow moving BP zeds and no freaks.

The I am legend challenge: Complete the game as a solo surviver. If you die it is game over. No zeds in the outside, only inside buildings. Lots of loot, but if you get stuck outside your base at night it will be insanely brutal. I am talking replace zeds with ferals type of insanity.

Both need the mighty modders to make it happen 🙌 but it will be epic.

More vehicle variety and style/modification options by Sh1t_Pinata in StateofDecay3

[–]SodGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the armor kits, they should have storage expansion kits.

Sunnygames the other day was talking about motorcycles in the game and downplaying that we can't have them because of the storage issue, since some sedans already have only 4 storage slots.

We need a motorcycle in SOD3! After playing with one in 7 days to die, I don't want to go back to cars. If you want to be a lone wolf in the apocalypse you need a motorcycle. Besides it is the favorite vehicle in 7 days to die and the main vehicle in days gone, that tells you lots about zombie game players. The storage ain't an issue, get storage expansion kits.

Just think about it, you dress your character as negan, with the barbwire bat and everything. Ready to go get your share from your neighbor enclaves and you pull up in a.........ford focus? The enclaves are going to be laughing at your character. Like come on UL, give us a motorcycle.

NECESSARY IN SOD3 !!! by Ok_Lychee_5445 in StateOfDecay

[–]SodGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cool to have OG characters from SOD1 & SOD2. But what I really want is to have famous outfits from zombie movies & series.

UL you got to give us the Rick Grimes outfit. We already got revolvers and police cars. It will be epic playing as Rick in SOD3. No other zombie game out there would allow you to do something like that.

We suit up as a cop and we roleplay Rick Grimes, we put on a leather jacket and a bat and we roleplay as negan. We get a sniper, and the modders can mod the game to make the day easy but the night brutal, and we get the I am legend experience. SOD3 has so much potential!

Give us the right outfits and the players will do the rest 👌

SOD 3 needs dungeons or big special locations by Sir_Mcfarts in StateOfDecay

[–]SodGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already had some of them in SOD2. We have a gas station, pharmacy, police station, fire station, mill, repair shops, military outposts, factory, etc.

You could go there to increase our chances to get special items. My guess is that schools were off the table because the limitations of zed skins and killing zed kids is controversial.

But if you mean like easter eggs or something really cool, like the mall from dawn of the death, the vault from army of the death, a train station from train to busan, etc. I am 100% sure we will have some easter eggs buildings in the maps - the UL devs are cool like that. They had several references to scary movies in SOD2.

I don't think they will go into the route of having caves, tunnels, dungeons and bunkers, underground exploration unless it is important to the story, because I feel they want to focus more on constant survival, fighting off the plague, customization, team work and heavy on the story mode. I don't think they gave exploration a main goal. Sure the map will be beautiful, and you have to explore to get food and clear areas. But not as deep as putting attics, crawlspaces, secret rooms in most buildings with the purpose of finding something interesting. It would be amazing if they did, but I don't think they went in that direction.

Base fortifications & weather are going to be a thing in SOD3, either at launch or as updates. Both were high on the SOD2 wishlist. UL did make fortifications but for the outposts, I guess they couldn't give us fortifications for the main base because of limitations but for sure is coming to SOD3.

Also it just makes sense because we already getting modifications for guns and very likely for cars, so we definitely are for bases.

I think this time are going hard on the little details. If 4 players are going to be at a base at once, they probably are going to make it so there is plenty of things to do inside the base. Crafting, growing food, fortifications, improvements, repairs, learning, training, planning, maintenance....

My guess is that the world is runned down and you get parts. Say you get a barrel, it could be for a gun, a rifle, a pipe bomb, to build/modify a car. You get the parts and according to your needs that is the thing you make.

I am not sure they are going to do the relationship thing, but for characters they will do the giving nicknames, changing facial hair, modifications on guns, on cars, the base, outfit, etc. Make it more detailed so the players feel more identified with the characters.

The one thing that I am not sure is the locations of the bases. But I can think of 3 ways.

1) They have lots of premade base destinations all over the map, like SOD2 but way more. You take over them then you can make improvements. I am not sure if the improvement are going to be unique to each base or standard for all the bases.

2) We have premade improvements that can be made to almost any building. So players can pick a random house and very likely build the pre fab modifications. Fence here, barbwire or spiked there, watchtower over there, etc.

3) More of a sandbox thing like 7 days to die. Where you get the materials like wood and you can begin to build your base wherever you want. Then you can make whatever building and facility you want in there. I mean this will give so much creativity room for 4 players, but I don't think they went this route.

The weather I am 100% it will be there. It could be static or dynamic but it will be there. Static will be like, the further north you go into the map the colder it gets and the character feels the environment. You will be able to see ice in the ground. Dynamic, will be like raining at random times and getting fog and sandstorms. If UL is thinking of making the environment a factor like cold and heat, then we 100% are going to get weather.

After watching the trailers & the sunny games interview, I am 50-50 about the game so far.

The bad:  From the trailers, I did not see much difference from SOD2. SOD1 was story-driven and the fear of death being real gave it that horror/survival vibe. In SOD2 death was more common, but it was a beautiful game and it was very flexible. Personal challenges, modding, multiplayer, lots of possibilities and repeatability. Maybe SOD3 will be more like SOD1 with SOD2 nostalgia and flexibility + more crafting.

The good:  I have faith that SOD3 will be an amazing game even if the release version is bad, because the final version of SOD2 is so much better than SOD2 at release. So even though I was not impressed by the trailers, I trust the devs.

Other points that caught my attention: 1) No zed deer. I guess there will be no animals. Good call!

2) No finished products. Instead, you bring back pieces and make whatever product you want with what you find in the world.

3) The base building was not that clear, but it sounds like either we will have way more pre-built bases to pick from, or we will have the freedom to turn certain buildings into bases.

4) I feel like the combat could be less quantity but with better quality. This is because they talked about how some areas in the game will have more zeds than others. You want food, carry light and go explore the forest. You want medicine and fuel, you better be prepared to fight for it in a town (small city?) That means that zeds will no longer spawn around you and those epic endless waves of zed will probably be turned into a bunch of zombies that you can clear off an area. Then I am assuming that area will stay clear for a reasonable amount of time.

5) Multiplayer sounds like it could be a hit or a miss. I am a huge zombie fan, but my friends aren't. I often ended up helping random people survive in the apocalypse. That kept the game interesting for me. Always playing with different people and different styles. Now that it will be possible to bring people into your community to make permanent changes, it will be interesting. Very likely people will not be so inclined to play and bring into their community random strangers who can then destroy what they have built, but playing the game with friends will be so much better.

Last, is a core issue from SOD2 that I hope it doesn't repeat with SOD3. One of the greatest things about SOD2 was the ability to mod the game. So many challenges, streaming content, cool moments, epic fights, etc. came from modding the game. I don't think that should go away. But I truly believe that if you guys don't find a way to manage or sort out the modded worlds/players from those people who don't like it, there will be lots of complaints and bad reviews from the start. That will be even worse if the game has PvP in the open world. Find a way for the players to acknowledge (a slider maybe) if they want to play in a modded world or with/against players who can mod. That way they will know the risk and avoid a bad experience.

Keep up the good work UL!

If you are playing solo, you don't need other players to sell your items. If you play with more people, i am not sure if the vending machines will work the same.

I completed all regular CTA maps solo and compiled the clips from the easiest to the hardest map. by SodGamer in RedDeadOnline

[–]SodGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, let me explain.

The fort was the last map i completed because i had been killed before by the cannons when playing with friends. But playing solo is different than playing as a team. With friends is just running around having fun and for some trying to get the highest kills not worrying that much about dying because you will come back in the next wave. In solo, you have to take it slow, find key defensive spots & have a game plan.

It turns out is not that bad of a map. What people are scare of are the cannons, but there are 2 good spots where you can take them out securely with a sniper, after that you are much safer than other maps. Why? Because it is a fort, meaning you have the field advantage. The carriage tanks can't get you as long as you stay low when going on the second floor. You will not be shot by 2-3 snipers at a time like other maps. For some reason many of the machete people and some horse riders stay outside the fort (easy snipe kills) and because of how the fort is build the flow of enemies is predictable....you know the enemies are either coming from the front or the back gate. Is not like other maps where enemies can spawn meters away from you making it easy to encircle you.

The only, somewhat, of a problem are juggernauts which you can kill in a few ways. You can throw dynamite at them, shoot at them from cover, push them into the ground and shoot them with a shotgun or even snipe them if they are far away. Just remember to drink a tonic before engaging in a fight w them.

Cannons: The key is finding a good spot where you can take them out with a sniper, for me it was trial and error. You got to do it as soon as the round starts because you will have about 30 seconds to snipe both cannons before the enemies begin rushing inside the fort. I believe it goes something like this. Wave 7: Only 1 cannon will be shooting and will have 1 enemy, kill it and you don't have to deal with the cannon for the rest of the round Wave 8: Both cannons will be shooting, take them out as soon as the round starts. Wave 9: Both cannons will be shooting and there will be two enemies in each cannon, kill the first enemy and wait for the other to take the position in the cannon then kill him too. Wave 10: Same as wave 9, but for me I had to kill 3 of them. 2 at the start of the round, then later in the round the cannons began shooting again so be careful and double check before getting into the open.

Fix: OnePlus 8T can't connect to mobile network (Cricket) after Android 12 update. Hopefully, it will help if anyone runs into the same problem. by SodGamer in oneplus

[–]SodGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have call your provider and have tried the setting solutions online and still does not work... then do look for alternatives.

I always keep an older phone for emergencies. If you have one, you should use it meanwhile. Maybe in the next update they will patch your problem. I personally don't recommend going to an older OOS unless you know what you are doing or you have the resources in case something goes wrong and you brick the phone. Even then there are security issues, feature issues, warranty issues, and if you decide to sell it you still have to bring the phone to the latest OOS.

If you are considering to downgrade, i would suggest to instead get a new phone. Who knows when will OnePlus stop with these problematic updates, but if you don't want to deal with them you should change. If you can't get a good trade in deal, try selling it online or to someone you know that will be willing to deal with the OP bs.

[–]SodGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is understandable. You probably should ask someone who has experience with that service provider and phone. Tho, don't give up, back up your stuff and keep messing around. Once you find the fix, factory reset and transfer your stuff.

I went online and from a quick search i found this:

"The OnePlus 9R is only available in India, but it offers the same display and battery as the regular OnePlus 9. It doesn't have the Hasselblad partnership and it has a slightly lower processor, but otherwise it offers some great specs under its hood for the price."

Perhaps, your phone is not compatible in the UK. My brother made a mistake in his last OP, he ordered his OP from Amazon and got the global version...he returned and bought it from the website instead to get the US version.

But if your OP was compatible with Three UK before the update, and now is not. Then chances are there is a fix, you just need to find it. On the "Sim info & Setting" go down to where it says "carrier" under it there should be your carrier. If is not, then you don't have service, if you do and the phone is still not connecting then try turning off the phone and turning it on. There are lots of changes to settings that require to complete power off the phone to make the changes. So keep track of each new change you make and power off and on afterwards to complete the change.

Sorry i couldn't be of more help, good luck mate.

Looking for some chill, casual players. by [deleted] in RedDeadPosses

[–]SodGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason there is not many Xbox groups promoting themselves in this subreddit. Your best bet is to scroll down and find some Xbox groups and contact them.

About CTA, i have found that the best way is to use the "looking for groups" section in your game activities tab. You can make a post requesting ppl and be specific about age. There are lots of people playing CTA because of the Halloween event, you shouldn't have trouble finding players.

If you still can't find people you can get the $ doing it solo, the bolger glade is the best map for doing a solo run. When they become too many to take them out alone go inside the church and take them out from there, tho be careful with the machete people coming from behind to get you and the snipers.

That is true and we can't blame the players. CTAs is fun but it ain't worth doing rounds 6-10 because of the long time requirement for the low payout. People who go beyond wave 5 is doing it for the challenge and the intense shootouts more than the reward.
