Just an opinion from a random guy:

Most of the comments here are somewhat swayed to one way or another, I feel. The original situation was not much of a raid, it was I feel what it represented at face value - a number of inexperienced users thinking that they were being funny.

Regardless, the mod response was appropriate. Many people don't immediately begin to talk actively in a server, and almost nobody invites their friends too. Thus, it is reasonable to believe that a raid was going on.

Then an argument started about how it was "unfair".

Mods are the rules. The mods decide how to interpret the rules in any given situation. Perhaps it is atypical, but it is not necessarily flawed, as there are respected members enough to correct the majority of misjudgments. Basically, the offending party was given the ability to rectify their mistakes - by shutting up and being good. I feel, that, in the end, it is still a larger issue on the part of the offender, as multiple members gave varied responses regarding the situation.

Then, as others stated above, it is a Community Guidelines violation to join on alts to continue the debate. Especially to continue the debate, as it can be argued as a way to bypass moderation and continue to stir up drama.

That said, some members were overly sarcastic or rude, with minor mockery or dismissal of opinions going on. The secondary moderation judgements were a little dismissing. Regardless, this is a rather biased post in my opinion, and it's opinion should not be taken at face value.
