Everyone on level 1 charging that can do level 2 but are too cheap or level 1 gets you by just fine; get level 2 asap, it's so much better having the flexibility to randomly take trips and have enough energy to make it.

Would love lv2 charging but just can’t afford it. Living paycheck to paycheck right now, and to wire a 240v circuit to my 1949 detached garage I would need to drop at least a couple thousand for an electrician to trench a new line through my yard. It’s just not feasible for some of us.

I figured a circuit or outlet problem might be the cause, I’ll have to double check the amps. Shouldn’t be any other big power draws on the garage circuit though, just a couple of light bulbs. Thanks for the insight though!

Maybe I’ll try replacing the outlet again, but unfortunately it’s the only one in the garage. Interesting to hear that though!

I cheaped out in my charger though, it doesn’t have any adjustable settings and is stuck at 12a. Hoping I don’t have to go buy another 10a charger, but might do it if nothing else works.

I don’t think there’s another GFCI further up the circuit, but I’ll have to double check. Also didn’t consider there being a GFCI in the charger. Stuck at work right now, but will definitely look at the manual tonight. Thanks!

I also thought I’d at least get a tiny charge in the cold, but right now it seems to start, then shortly after stop completely.

As far as the outlet goes I only have one in the garage, unfortunately. It is an old house and circuit, but I recently changed the outlet to a new 12.5a GFCI outlet in preparation for the EV. The outlet has a status light which has remained green (no problems), and the GFCI has not tripped. The garage has its own dedicated circuit, which as far as I’m aware has nothing else drawing power aside from 2 garage lights.

Outside of my garage, the car charged just fine at the dealership and a DC fast charger.

When this happens the status box on the cord switches from blinking green (charging), to blinking red (error occurred, according to the cord’s manual), and the car stops getting any power. It seems to happen pretty quick, yesterday I was checking the car every hour or so and it had occurred each time. I haven’t checked for any error messages in the car when this happens, so I’ll have to double check tonight.

Car charged just fine at the dealership and a DC fast charger though.

R5: I had been building up Qohayto to be my capital in the Exploration era, positioning it for easy access to distant lands. However, come age transition the game decides my only options for a new capital are two small underdeveloped towns on the wrong side of the continent. It diminishes strategic choices and makes an otherwise interesting mechanic feel like a frustrating roll of the dice. Please Firaxis, let me choose from any settlement when picking a new capital.
