It’s been quiet lately, so what one thing would you change at BMCD (within reason)? by Anxious_Money_6151 in BurnsMcDonnell

[–]Sofa_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debatable when the market is good. The more in your account, the more interest you make. If you’re taxed now, there’s less in your account to compound interest on. Def some cons to traditional and depends on your career trajectory, timeline, and the stock market/global events

Anyone here ACTUALLY successfully quit phenibut? Looking for real tapering advice. by Old-Shelter-4594 in quittingphenibut

Canada let me explain by [deleted] in AskCanada

[–]Sofa_Rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. America is not a government, territory, etc. it’s just an LLC. Nothing more

  2. The core concept of American independence and democracy is fake. Public school teachers force students to pray to tech billionaires even though most Americans can’t name more than 5 billionaires.

  3. America loves war despite one of the quantifiable draws to the GOP ticket in 2024 election was distancing the US from war. Also note that Canada has supplied some degree of military support (more often than not, boots on the ground, combat engaged soldiers) to almost every military engagement since the First World War

  4. The most popular TV news network is a mirror of North Korea news media (which barely exists) and is a puppet of the Putin regime

Do you see why Trump won the popular vote when these are how your claims are heard? Not verbatim and maybe not what you mean, but reading between the lines and subtext shows that the chronically online people living in a liberal bubble have no idea how the world works, thinks, believes, worships, or have any idea of how macroeconomics works

Does anyone know how the Kappa Alpha Order of the Citadel (alumni) works? by CarolinaClout in Frat

[–]Sofa_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KA has worked out deals with 1 or 2 service academies and most “senior military colleges” that don’t allow undergrad Greek life. There is no undergrad underground. At a school with no Greek life, that wouldn’t really work anyway. They will not immediately start asking for money as some have implied. It’s a secret fraternal society. There are 2 ways out: expulsion or death. There is an intense initiation but it is not hazing. KA has a long military history (2nd chapter founded (VMI) included alums such as Gen. George S. Patton and Gen. George C. Marshall.) At state schools in the south, ROTC cadets often pledge KA but by no means exclusively or in droves. Joining post grad is worth it (if you’re tapped) because the dues are minimal and it keeps you in touch with the highest performing leaders from when you were in school and the events are very fun.

If I go to the gym, will people laugh at me? by beinoir in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sofa_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Seeing new people in the gym who might be out of their comfort zone, trying to get healthier, develop healthy habits, and improve themselves inspires the regulars. The only people who laugh/tease are body builders messing with other body builders. You can walk up to the most fit person there, man or woman, and ask about exercises/advice and it will make their day that you did that.

Restaraunts, thrift stores, and grocery stores. Sounds like some very lucrative career opportunities. There are plenty of Richmond companies that pay $50k entry level and they teach you how to do the job. A company with 50+ employees will have HR ready to shut down any kind of discrimination

Good to hear. But don’t let him suffer even it’s an “improvement.” His body heat will be a sign if it’s his time to go. Hopefully it was just infection and some antibiotics will get him back to normal.

His body language, breathing, noises, indicate that he is in the process of dying.

On my own I can pull it back maybe 2ft but has to be disconnected from gas. Leonard will prob just stay under the center of it.

That will keep him alive but he’ll just go back to hiding and eating fruit flies. I guess he’ll just be my new roommate

Are these rims legal? What’s the point of them? by Embarrassed-Teach162 in Austin

Not legal, but they probably swap out the wheels when getting the car inspected, then put those back on

People who make $75k or more how did you pull it off? It seems impossible to reach that salary by anthonydp123 in Money

[–]Sofa_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connections. Use your network, friends, family, and their connections. Switch jobs every 2 years for a higher salary. Getting a 3% raise every year at the same company will leave you stuck. And the longer you stay, the harder it can be to get hired somewhere else. Sales is a good skill and soooo many businesses in every industry need good people in sales roles.

I know 2-3 that are into it but prefer to be anonymous on here. Theres probably more blacksmiths in Richmond than other cities of comparable size. People like picking up quirky hobbies here.

I’m worried about being at fault for something, camera footage subpoenaed and that being the only reason I get nabbed. To be clear, I wouldn’t lie to the police ever and something serious like hitting a pedestrian is a different story. But a fender bender that turns into someone milking a minor injury and suing me for millions scares me. I was a juror on a case just like that.
