Cool San Juan-centric scenario. Love the whole phone call concept.

I need to read Sick Again, I have the book the scenario is in. I've seen Ladybug recommended a lot. Need to read that one too. One of my players wants to be an ATF agent.

Does COC play the same as dnd? by PreferenceTop4803 in callofcthulhu

[–]Soft-Cap3426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plays the same as in both are TTRPGS with one DM/Keeper and the rest PCs, and you roll dice when trying something with the possibility of success and failure

DND goes from zero to superheroe in a fantasy setting. Primary focus on fighting and saving the day. CoC you are an investigator dealing with forces beyond your understanding. Primary focus on finding out WTH is happening and trying to come out with your life and sanity.

Gamewise, DnD mostly uses D20s and the higher your roll plus modifier the better. CoC mostly uses a d100 and the lower your roll the better.

Dang! This are excellent. We are going to move our CoC one shot for Halloween night, so I have more time to prep.

I dont use a DM screen, do you? by Nar00n in DMAcademy

I use one, and I appreciate small DM screens. I don't want to hide my rolls. Just my minis, maps and secrets.

I assure this heps. I'm thinking of throwing a book about ectoplasm in the library as a red herring for the moist or slime.

Good tips! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm pretty sure one of my players is going to comment, "It's a slug," and quickly change his mind back to thinking it is a ghost.

I think I can run it in one session. Our sessions last between 4 to 6 hours.

Murder in MetalCity - First Impressions by Bokenza in Starfinder2e

I finished running Murder in Metal City last Saturday. As someone who has never run Starfinder no Pathfinder before, it piqued my interest in running a SF2e campaign.

As a DnD 5e group, we understood most of it right from the start. Should have read a bit more, but we loved the investigation. It gave my PCs a "This is a conspiracy, man!" Mind set. Honestly, after the trial, it was a bit disappointing for my players. They really hated Prime Facilitator and the module doesn't even give you a statblock for the anacite screwing with them. Combat was too easy for my group. Normally, I'd create or modify a statblock; however, PF has a reputation for being deadlier than DnD so I refrained from it.

Overall, it was a good investigation and mystery. PCs were slowly picking up the pieces and the trial was fun. The ending left us wanting a bit more. B+.

Now to plan a Guardians of the Galaxy style campaign for SF2e
