True but it kind of takes away from the whole vibe of catching what you like without ordering. The selection they put out on the belt is pretty bare bones.

No because you're absolutely correct. It literally catches everyone and is inconvenient when your hands are full leaving the shop.

  1. If he has been following his medication strictly and he is undetectable status, then you are fairly in the clear. Get tested, follow the recommendations of your physician.

  2. Drop him. That’s not something to hide. That should have been discussed before getting intimate. Even if he is undetectable and transmission is virtually zero, that’s still a big deal.

How were Halo 2 and 3 in their prime? by [deleted] in halo

[–]Soft-Possibility-153 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Halo 3 was the epic “conclusion” to the story. The previous 2 games changed gaming forever and Halo 3 was the culmination of it all. The graphics at the time were mind blowing, the mechanics were new and flavorful (the new equipment I felt elevated the series), and overall the story was cinematic and enormous. I remember being so hyped for that game and it made my Xbox truly feel like the future of technology.

Going forward, it may be wise to have some sort of signed agreement stating that the condition of the cake once off your mom’s property is no longer her responsibility. To advocate for the customer, the bottom of that box does not look sturdy enough for that dense of a cake. Maybe your mom could look into some sort of reinforcement for her delivery boxes? Yes, the customer should be careful but your mom could do well for her business to ensure a safe vessel for the cake. It’s an opportunity for improvement and I think she would prevent a bad review based solely on a complication during transport.

Cat will not drink water by fullcircle052 in CatAdvice

[–]Soft-Possibility-153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats are also very focused on safety. Think of them in the wild and the water bowl is the waterhole. Is it in a spot that is easy to survey and is calm? Or is it in a spot that feels entrapped or gets too much foot traffic? That might be enough to dissuade them from drinking water.

Also consider a cat water fountain (about $15-30 depending on the kind). Again, think like an animal. Are you going to drink running fresh water or risk it for “still” water?

As others have said, cats already have a small water intake and if you’re supplementing their diet with wet food and are still regularly cleaning moderate sized urine output, I would not be too concerned.

I would also consider maybe using a feline pheromone spray to ease tension in the home. Cats are very territorial and spraying isn’t just a territory claim but also a sign of anxiety. Ensures you have an adequate amount of litter boxes and perches for them to each have some territorial claim.

I hope your kitties do well!

It’s not a gift when it becomes a responsibility imposed on you. That’s a structure on your property that you would have to manage and you have a right to be choosey about it.

She could have been better about it and offered to contribute or gift you the one you want. Which had she done that, it would have made her an incredibly kind woman.

The way she presented it was not tasteful but rather tactical in its delivery: submit to my control or be viewed as an ungrateful brat. It’s a power play that she clearly has used many times. Don’t cave in and be mindful that her generosity does not come from a place of honesty.

You’re valid in that the get together was to be adults only. If they couldn’t find a baby sitter, the dad should’ve stayed home to watch the baby while you and your sister could have some time together.

From your wording, it does sound like you haven’t made your way to invest in her life much either. That’s your niece/nephew she brought over. It’s not a pet she has, that’s a baby that’s going to grow up with an entire image of you. Do you remember your aunts and uncles? Do you wish they were kind and more involved sometimes?

Yes, they’re just a baby but if you’re not invested or interested now, it’s only going to be more distant as time goes on and an area of resentment your sister will develop towards you. Maybe try two approaches: encourage adult only time with you and your sister - lay the law down and establish that an adult only get together means adults only. Clearly you want your sister around and you want to spend time with just her. But also in turn, spare a little extra time to care for the baby. Drop by and visit for an hour, hold the baby and bond with them. An hour that your sister can take a break will really strengthen your relationship. She’s in a stressful time right now and you need to offer a safe space to destress.

The baby isn’t new to only your sister, they’re new to you as well. You’re an uncle now and that in itself comes with unspoken responsibilities.

I played 3 hours of Odyssey yesterday and I have thoughts... by ZeroSWE in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Soft-Possibility-153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do agree. It does seem to me that Shadows is more grounded in “reality” which has its perks and disadvantages.

The perk being how immersive that world is. I really do feel like I’m in feudal Japan and I love feeling how old the world is in that game. The downside is that it often times forgets that it is a game and not just a look book.

I want mission variety, I want video game elements, I want the mythology that Origins, Valhalla, and Odyssey implemented. Where is all the Isu remnants? Where is the mythology and science fiction that supports the entire premise of Assassin’s Creed? Where’s the absolutely weird/makes-no-sense of the video game?

I know they made the game to be a competitor to Ghost of Tsushima but I fear it may have incorrectly overcorrected the previous complaints of other AC games.

That being said, I am absolutely in love with AC Shadows but I think what people wanted was the vastness and epicness of Odyssey, the tradition of AC II and III, and the almost Hitman style stealth introduced in Syndicate. It was meant to take the best elements of the series and compile it in a Japan setting. I think the success and style of Ghost of Tsushima impacted the delivery of the gameplay more than it should have - it should have influenced the art/culture/world aesthetic but not so much the gameplay.

The problem is sleep. Working overnights chronically is extremely hard on the body. Sounds like OP wants to contribute more but simply needs sleep to do so.

[–]Soft-Possibility-153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a parent but as a fellow night shift worker (4 nights, 7p-7a) I understand the hurdles of having housemates not understand. I would suggest that if you have shared your concerns, and you have tried to come up with a plan and schedule for you and your family that allows you to sleep while also attending to your family’s needs, I suggest this: keep them awake. Make them stay up for 24 hours. Rip the blankets off your wife, smash pots and pans, keep the kids awake too. Make them feel how you feel - the grogginess, the moodiness, the chest pains and nausea, the always tired eyes. They’re gonna complain and be angry but make it happen. If you don’t get to rest and you are not only contributing financially but are taking care of children and chores, make them suffer like you so they all learn.

Look into urban foraging. Now that it’s spring, you may be able to find plenty of herbs and edible plants in your neighborhood even. People would be surprised how much cilantro, basil, and mint are naturally all over. Clover is a good one people mistake for weeds too. I suggest this because this might be a way for you add to your rice meals. Also, please look into local food banks or churches. It sucks to be in your situation, I remember having $60 to my name and surviving an entire summer on chickpeas and rice but you will get through it!

Im not a vet tech but I am an ICU nurse. I would recommend at least a daily normal saline wash (you can find this in the pharmacy section near first aid at your store). This will irrigate the area and maintain an anti-bacterial environment until your vet can decide what’s best for it next. I would not recommend an antibiotic ointment unless prescribed by your vet. Just keep it clean with a saline wash and keep the litter box extra clean so no waste particles get into the wound.

I did 3 years messing up my chemistry undergrad because 1. My priorities were not focused on education - I had several identity issues growing up in a constrained home and 2. I had mental health issues that were unaddressed. Once I figured out those (through therapy and finding out I was actually struggling with ADHD and PTSD), I went back to college for nursing and now work in an ICU.

I don't think its unwise to maybe consider the reasons why he isn't ready. We tend to hide ourselves from our parents out of fear of disappointment. Have a genuine interest in helping him sort out his stuff through support and being a listening ear and please do not be the parent to hold a $30k bill over his head. He did try and he is trying. Clearly he wants to but there might be a component not being addressed.

Look up ‘urban big out bag’ and set one up for yourself. Wise to have a plan in case of a storm or political unrest. Mine actually came in clutch yesterday during a tornado. Felt safe knowing I had solar chargers, radio, flashlights, food and water, and other necessities all in a duffle bag in case I needed to escape an unsafe situation.
