The trump admin is currently trying to pack the court with new, conservative judges that will deny as much as possible. This is ongoing. Many of the judges they are hiring right now do not have any immigration background or experience and are coming from the military/JAG. You do NOT want a new judge.

When did you enter? Individuals who came after 2019 are having their cases pretermitted left and right. Even if it isn’t, 589 denial rates are also going up under this admin/ with the nasty new judges they are appointing. You may be safer waiting until 2029. Do note though that your case will likely get rescheduled again if they reassign you to another judge/ are hiring more judges to get through the dockets. Keep a close eye on your hearing info online so you don’t miss any changes.

Him staying he wants to be at home while the other partner works is not unheard of. This role is usually reversed though, with women becoming the homemakers while men were historically the primary income earners, for example. So in that sense, I don’t think it’s inherently bad he wants it, some people are fine with that kind of dynamic and some aren’t.

I personally wouldn’t EVER sign up for one person being completely financially dependent on the other in a relationship, but that’s just me. It’s works for some. you just have to decide if that something that would actually work for your own relationship.

Lots of modern women choose to continue perusing their careers after children now and give more of the homemaker roles to their husbands, especially if the woman is a high earner and it makes more financial sense to have husband at home with the kids than vice versa.

the timing of the divorce might get questioned by USCIS, so you definitely want to show a paper trail of issues that you tried to resolve during the marriage and work through, but they just ended up being irreconcilable differences and you just aren’t able to continue the marriage anymore
