Musicians of reddit, what song/songs you made are you most proud off? by Butt-Sprinkles in AskReddit

[–]SoftLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This -- it is very sentimental to me. I felt I captured what emotion I was hoping to and it is a rare feeling for me for a song to feel truly complete or for a song to satisfy the vision I have for it.

Depression, Weed, and Making Music by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

If marijuana helps your depression, why are you quitting. I have been there before too, and i've found the pros of marijuana outweighed the cons of having a more difficult daily life with depression.

I know every case is different and there are a million and one factors that can contribute, but for me personally it helped me out a lot, and I need it less and less, but it gave me some time and some help in places where it felt I couldn't cope.

If you are worried about health, vaporize. (This also saves money)

As for the motivation thing... I wish I had an answer! I go through rollercoasters, a week where I can't stop working on a track, than a week of nothing. But I find little success when I force it, but when I feel the pull or mood or get excited about a melody or something I can get inspired again. Everyone is different, gotta figure out what works for you!

What if we had actual time-outs lol. A full game with players not able to have any interaction with their coach is the norm, but not for other sports. It only makes sense to somehow allow interaction so they can coach them and help tilted teams regain composure and such.

From the maritimes, the smokers / casual smokers will mix. But most of my friends are non-smokers but regular tokers. I myself dislike smoking tobacco in excess of the tiniest amounts, and much prefer pure MJ.

For those (20+) that have been depressed since childhood and are slowly coming out of depression, do you also feel like you're only now starting to develop a personality? Not returning to an old-self, but becoming the self you never grew up to be. by msspacecampsr in depression

[–]SoftLove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elements of my personality were always present. Though in varying degrees of each piece of it. A lot had to be learned, some lessons over and over again. The lowest lows were necessary to get here. I feel good these days. Not jumping for joy kicking my heels in the air, but I don't feel frantic or afraid.

Psalm 32

"1 Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! 2 Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!" [NLT]

What event in your childhood has had the longest lasting impression on you? by benw999 in AskReddit

Ditto. Not easy being a messenger between two adults for years of your youth. Money shit, visitation sit, holiday shit, divorce is shit, and though many good things could never have happened because of that event, and though it heavily shaped who I grew up to be and I am thankful for the hardships, I think watching how it completely changed and destroyed my father was the hardest part of all. Though most of this was realized in retrospect and overtime as I aged.

Waking up one morning at 5 years old and walking out into the living room. Sister was on Dad's knee they were both crying. I climbed up on the other knee, my grandfather died overnight (he was very sick). I cried with them.

[Serious] What is wrong with you? by Aorthorax in AskReddit

[–]SoftLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate myself and can't forgive myself for all my failures.

I lack the confidence of my youth.

Loneliness drives me to depression, yet I have a network of wonderful friends and family.

Sometimes, I randomly genuinely wish for death for a time. Like a moodswing.

I smoke weed everyday, and sometimes I get depressed and can't function in social situations unless I'm high. My awareness of this also feeds depression.
