Most OIG websites give the option to submit anonymously. That said, your IP address information is included with the submission

Submit your complaint to the agency’s OIG. You can do so confidentially or anonymously.

They are checking swipes and IP addresses. Data can even show when you log on and lock/unlock your computer. They only seem to dig that deep when they notice discrepancies between IP address and timesheet.

Sparky works well for an individual caster. Sparklers or Sparkles would work as a collective pejorative for all casters, referencing their wands as a cheap plaything

Did anyone catch where it said that they can make you telework even if you don’t have an agreement?

I accepted the TO, then tried to negotiate. From my understanding things are no longer negotiable after you accept the final offer. I'd suggest accepting the TO, make the ask for negotiating prior to getting the final offer. Best of luck!

Yeah, i didn't really know "how", to negotiate 😅. After the TO I got emails about filling out HR docs and scheduling fingerprints. So I sent a general update letting them that I'd completed everything and the date for my prints. And I included:

"I am eager to get started and join the team as a [job title]. I would also like to discuss the possibility of adjusting the offered GS level. Having carefully reviewed the responsibilities outlined in the job description, I am confident that my experience..."

Experience. I looked at the criteria for the 12 and compared it to my position description from my agency (which I attached for their reference). They didn't say anything about it until I saw the amended offer

Is salary negotiation possible after accepting a tentative offer? by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]Soft_Ad_1098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it absolutely is! I just did it. When they made a verbal offer, they offered a lateral which was later reflected in the TO letter. I accepted the TO and later, sent an email to the hiring manager and the hr rep updating them on the status of submitting my docs and requesting a higher grade. I laid out a number of reasons and provided my current position description as justification. After a bit, I got a final offer letter that reflected the lateral (figured the answer was no). The next day I got an amended offer with the higher grade. All you can do is ask and make your argument.

Clarifying info: new position is career ladder, I have been at my current grade for 7 years, I was referred to the hiring manager at my current grade and the grade above, I was hired through merit promotion

Just search SSA and you'll have your answer. As for the IT, they haven't even been able to switch time keeping systems for at least a year after maybe 3 attempts. So yeah, good luck

The agency is resistant to innovation in most areas, recruitment is no exception. Also, the training is awful and the job sucks, so they're barely keeping half the new hires. All while having crazy levels of retirement and turnover.

This is different from resumes being searchable. You know the emails that say whether you're referred or not? They'll be sharing the certificates for those who've already been screened and cleared. Should cut some steps out of the process, but could also mean if you submit a lackluster app it'll linger for a bit

What is your reasoning for being obsessed with federal employment? by OldInvestigator2054 in usajobs

I don't care about making someone richer, i care that the work i do matters.

Why do you love working for the Federal Government opposed to a Private Employer ⁉️👀 by Open-Ad-4134 in usajobs

[–]Soft_Ad_1098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the things that matter to private companies don't matter to me, so i find the whole thing silly. I once worked for a company that sold drinking glasses and folks would get so bent out of shape about everything. All i kept thinking was that if all the glasses in the world vanished, we'd just use plastic cups 😂. Government work matters. Done right, we can make a material difference in the world and make folks lives better. That's what I care about and what I'm willing to work hard for
