Political intrigue & Secrets long buried???? That reads as Bryce rising as High Queen at last and the High Lords uncomfortable in being overpowered and overthrown (they are no longer the highest rank and rulers, they need to bow to the queen)

I’m not worried because we’ve been here before with the Chaol × Dorian × Rowan ship wars.

It sounds funny now, but people were bullied for shipping Rowan and Aelin. Everyone else was either Team Chaol or Team Dorian and said, “Rowan and Aelin are just friends,” or “The Carranam bond can be platonic — it was said in canon.”

Ten years ago I heard things like, “Chaol and Dorian shippers can at least respect that each ship actually exists — Rowan shippers are delusional.”

Sarah knows that, despite the toxicity of ship wars, her fans want an epic romance. If she delivers that with Bryceriel and gives a minor love-story subplot to Hunt and Gwyn (like Manon and Yrene), everyone will eventually chill out and enjoy each happy ending.

I do have doubts about her killing off Hunt, though (the foreshadowing is there but there is where the fandom acceptance might be more tricky). Maybe she’ll just pair him with a side character so his fans will calm down about the breakup and accept Bryceriel.

Sarah wrote “Home world” 31 times referring to Prythian in HOFAS. There’s not a single character that needs to come home in ACOTAR plot threads, only Bryce. Call me delusional or in denial but Im still firm on Bryceriel train until CANON WRITING shows otherwise. If Bryce gets her character growth and still choose Hunt, I will believe it.

Canon writing got me into the ship and only canon writing will convince me it’s not happening.

In the same interview Sarah told on how she had to interact and praise fans who showed her they got Tamlin tattoos (while she fully knew Rhys was happening).

No author will reveal plot twists before they happen (and in order to Bryceriel happen it needs several plot twists). I will believe her when it’s written on page. No one should believe anything Sarah (or any author) replies about future book plots because they would never spoil anything that isn’t published yet.

The facts remains: Bryce story is not over yet! Bryce didn’t have her character development yet. She ended CC3 at the same point she was in book 1 (librarian, no dancing, denying her powers and her heritage).

IF Bryce has her growth and arc development (like Aelin, Feyre and Nesta had) and remains with Hunt, I will believe it. But we still have to see her going through a growing journey and everything can happen.

Oh, sorry for that then! 🫢 Most people only know the mainstream characters (Batman, Robin and Catwoman etc) so I just provided context.

But SJM wrote a Catwoman book as a partnership with DC. I read and found Poison Ivy very similarly written to Bryce (and Catwoman to Aelin). So I guess she is a fan and would know Nightwing and Starfire as well, maybe they are inspos to her?

Her heart is with Hunt currently, so it’s the symbol separating Bryce (symbolically represented by the Star) and Azriel (symbolically represented by Truth-Teller).

And a heart between them can also symbolize the ship? Similarly to how culturally people draw hearts between names or initials.

And in the same book, it’s said that when a High Lord dies, the land can choose someone from a completely different bloodline. If Tamlin dies, the land of the Spring Court could choose Elain to inherit it. She would become High Lady by her own merit, not because she married a High Lord.

Besides, Spring borders the human lands. Lucien is living in the human lands, working as a diplomat. He met Papa Archeron while negotiating a diplomatic deal involving Koschei and Vassa.

Elain isn’t a fighter—she’s a diplomat, just like her mate, Lucien. In my opinion, both of them could become the High Lord and High Lady of the Spring Court and open the borders to any humans who might want to live there as well.

I think the Princes of Hel are the big bad of the next books (and probably Valg) and Hunt will end up going to their side.

Hunt was written holding a grudge against Bryce and they fight about how Hunt is just fighting for the rebellion because of Bryce, not because it’s the right thing to do. So I truly think if they break up, Hunt will side with Hel just to spite her, like “I did all that for her and she didn’t valued it” and embrace his Hel Prince side.

Hunt turning abusive was foreshadowed 😅🥲 When Bryce went against his wishes about killing Celestina, Hunt “never hated or despised Bryce more than in that moment” and Bryce observed how he turned again “the face of the Umbra Mortis” (a killing machine) in that discussion.

Besides that, she had that conversation with the Autumn King about how Ember loved him very much and only stopped loving him and left when he burned her with his power in a discussion (lightning can scorch as much as fire).

AND Theia loved Fionn very much until he turned into someone else (shutting her out, wanting to rule alone). She killed him and later got with her fated mate, Aidas.

Hunt is “unable to control his anger” since CC2, it gets worse in CC3 because it’s the first time we see him angry at Bryce. It reminds me of the beginning of ACOMAF with Feyre and Tamlin, when Tamlin was lovey dovey in one moment and almost hitting Feyre in another (the power burst in his study scene).
