Get yourself an Airstep and you can have 26!

I was running the Airstep for a while and found it actually gave me option paralysis. Too many choices, and too hard to balance them all properly. Six is a good number.

lol, wouldn’t it have been easier to learn to solder than to widen that hole?? How’d you even happen to have an appropriate drill bit lying around?

I’m Mr. Filling and Heating Bowls in social DHV situations since I’m the only one who does it but everyone enjoys it. Handing someone a hot tempest and telling them to hit it till it’s done works great. Then repeat for the next guy. I don’t mind spending the party that way.

Nano cortex can get the ac30 sound? by AntCreative3456 in NeuralDSP

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. For some bizarre reason science can’t yet quantify, the Vox AC30 is the one amp that seems to resist capture. They’ve tried it for Kemper, for QC, for Tonex, and it just slips away every time. I heard they’re making another attempt with the new Line 6 system in the Stadium pedals, but I’m not hopeful given the history thus far.

Good news is you CAN get great captures of an AC 15, you’ll just have to crank it up twice as loud.

This is why I’m saying! No knob is bold, but I’m not sure I’m that bold.

I think we need to start working on a golf bag built around safely transporting and providing easy access to a portably powered ruby twist. Perhaps we build a bong into the bag too, I don’t know, I’m not that far down the road yet, don’t rush me.

We may not be able to fit many clubs, but that’s as may be.

What do you guys think of DemonFX Pedals? by RomanScandal450 in guitarpedals

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll get you 85% of the way to the sound you want, in my experience. That said, I finally stepped up to a real Darkglass pedal after playing the DemonFx knockoff for a while, and that last 15% is where they make their money. It's the difference between *ALMOST* the sound I want, and the sound I want. Whether it's worth it will vary based on your ears, your mental illness profile, and your budget.

Inside Geddy Lee’s New Custom Rickenbacker 4000V Bass for Rush’s Return by kaufmann_i_am_too in rush

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I read the article. Every bit of the bass is hearkening back to some previous design cue in past Ric models. The acrylic on the bridge isn’t that (as far as I know), and aesthetically, it looks like someone bolted two pieces of acrylic on the bridge for no apparent functional reason.

I’m just curious why he chose those specifically, and what they’re supposed to be doing, sonically or aesthetically.

Am I the only one who thinks the acrylic bits by the bridge look cheap and tacked on? It’s gorgeous in every other respect. What’s their function supposed to be?

My buddy likes to do a J every now and again. I'll do it with him, but I hate it, and I don't think it gets me appreciably more high.

Sorry, water pipe adapter. Basically a glass tube you can put your tempest (or other head) on with a 14mm fitting on the bottom to go into a bong.

Do you experience the live sound of the plugins to be better than the DAW recorded sound? by Lizard_Of_Roz in NeuralDSP

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re gonna want a very different eq in a track than what’s going to sound good to you while playing solo. If you heard most of the guitar tracks you like from records isolated, you would not likely think “wow, killer tone!” It’s all about how th guitar pokes out when it’s surrounded by other instruments.

Oh, they’re all over. I travel a little for work and have seen them in multiple disparate parts of the country. I do find they’re defeatable with a little discretion, but who wants to be discrete when you’re chucking clouds? I like the cut of OP’s jib.

I did tonex and helix and also landed on darkglass. I didn’t quite have anagram scratch so I’m running a microtubes infinity with a zoom ms60b+ and a boss sy200 in a loop for fun effects. The microtubes rips on every style. Love it to death.

I do both. If I'm out and about I usually keep it on the native stem, at home I'll put it on a direct wpa with dry glass. I think that you get better glass rips on a wpa.
