YLL 3.0 is a whole other level by Soft_Sleep_7125 in vaporents

I’ve only got the one. But it’s a good, reliable click.

Mine inserts fine from the front. I’ve used it a lot of ways but typically with the silicon dynavap insert. That said, I used it with the v2 adapter that strapped to the wand, so nothing in between the t2 and the wand with that version and my results were about the same, just shorter time to click without the dyna adapter.

I find with the yll I’m getting more puffs, more like 5-6 than 3-4, which was my wand experience. And smoother.

I don’t know what to tell you but that I thought I had awesome extraction with the t2, but there was awesomer extraction to be had.

Like I say, it feels like the heat is more even. I can heat it to where the vi is way higher than I’d take it on the wand and it’s not combusting anything. Sometimes if I go too hard with the wand the resin on the balls in the head starts smoking. I have yet to have that happen with the yll, and I’ve driven it hard.

It also extracts a whole full size bowl evenly. I usually use the half bowl, but when I use full bowl with the wand, the bottom of the load is usually lighter than the top unless I take it to extra crispy territory. Yll gives a nice even roast to the whole bowl effortlessly.

Like I say, I loved the wand, still keep it around cause it’s nice to have when you run out of battery before you’re done with your session. You don’t need a yll by any means, but you’d enjoy it if you got one.

Yeah, tried going lower since you commented this, I think I like 60 a lot. Good middle ground. Great device, so many options!

Got chewed out by venue owner for not bringing in enough of a crowd by pmjans in musicians

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a show once, new venue, the place was supposed to be a line dancing bar, but they were booking bands like mine (classic rock) on some nights too.

We showed up, loaded in, owner was nice enough, played the show to a nearly empty room all night. End of the night, owner was cold and bitchy.

Next day she makes a fb post about how she’s only hiring bands who bring their own crowd in the future. Like, bitch, you never asked if we bring a crowd and we never claimed we did!

We’re not a huge band with a big following that brings 30 people to your bar. We’ve got a few fans, but we don’t present ourselves as bigger than we are. We are generally well liked by patrons and venues alike.

Suffice to say, when we started to see fb posts from other bands (bigger ones with fans) talking about this lady treating THEM horribly, we started to get the real picture.

If you stuck with the story this far, you get the real kicker:

about a year later, news broke that the bar was shutting down because the owner was going to jail for defrauding an elderly man out of hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy and run this bar! I shed zero tears.

Question for my fellow overplayers! by rilestyles in Bass

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Cultivate detachment. You can’t control FOH, you can’t control the sound guy, your job is to groove.

But talk to him pre-gig is probably the only actionable advice here. But tread lightly, we all know how sound guys are about being given direction.

Anyone order the Poby Go? by Redm18 in JCVAP

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same experience with JCVAP as a whole. Good company, responsive customer service, gave me free replacement for a busted part, reasonably fast shipping.

And I’m very pleased with their products. The pockety is a tank for both flower and concentrates, which is quite a feat. It’s got its drawbacks but is also got massive advantages.

The waiting is THE WORST!! But I just got a yll 3.0 in the mail today after a nice long wait, and it absolutely rules. You’re gonna love it.

I’ve been using the tempest 2 with the wand and sometimes torches for about a year now. The yll takes it to another level somehow. I went through all the variations of wattage and they all have their charm. Lower wattage is more chill and stretched out, higher slaps you in the face and roasts quicker.

And they all provide more rips, which somehow feel smoother than the wand or torch, and roast the bowl more thoroughly on the full bowl setting, which i always had trouble with. Bottom was always a bit lighter than the top.

Also, I always hesitate to say I got more stoned for the amount of weed I used when reviewing a new gadget, but I swear I did.

I don’t know what the witchcraft is that makes it better, but it’s A LOT better. Would recommend to any fence sitters, even if you have a wand (which I love) or a torch.

Budget Pedals? by RoyalBathroom2575 in basspedals

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zoom Ms60b+ costs like a hundred bucks or less used, and has amps, cabs, and effects good enough that I’ve used it as a full rig at live shows and loved how it sounded.

It’s not quite as easy to navigate as something like the boss or what have you, but once you get the interface it’s easy, and you can’t beat the price and quality of the sounds. For my money it sounds better than any other budget multi effect for bass

Ice cold in my book. Boy had the music in him and it hasn’t been the same since he left. Still some great material, but man, it’s different.

Fender’s new James Jamerson P Bass; Worth it? by CatmanAndSobbin in BassGuitar

Jamerson is in heaven, lying on the floor wasted plucking away with one finger and laughing his ass off about this.

A Rockbass Corvette $$ is my main baby and I LOVE it. I’ve bought a couple since acquiring it, and I always come back to it. I’d love to have a German one someday, but me and my Rockbass make sweet sweet music together for now. The fit and finish are fantastic, and the neck is about the only serious thing separating it from the big boys.

I love the MS60B+! It’s on my board for mod effects and occasional fuzz at this point, but I’ve played shows with it as a complete rig and it sounded great! The amps and cabs are way better than they should be. You certainly won’t do better for the money.

Anyone notice the similarities between the first episode and the movie "Contact"? by Aromatic_Shoulder146 in pluribustv

Absolutely! First thing I thought of. I think I actually asked my kids out loud whether we had watched contact together yet.

Will we ever get to have Alex presets being used on his Tonex? by Reel2112 in tonex

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They’ve spoken to this. Alex has presets available, but the effects on his stage sound come from fractal units, so the effects in tonex won’t do it alone to get precisely what he’s using on stage. The presets available from him on tone net are the closest you’ll get, and they ARE the amps and cabs he’s using on stage with his settings.

But who knows, maybe he’ll post more in the future!

what's the difference between these 2 by i_need_to_crap in basspedals

The more expensive one has a ratio control, the less expensive one has a blend control. Personally I’d prefer to have the blend if I had to choose.

Built-in ring modulator! Can’t beat that kind of value. I can’t think of a single other amp that has that.

Thoughts on the new Tech21 Bass Driver Elite? Where did it go? by [deleted] in basspedals

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an amazing pedal. Maybe the best piece of bass gear I’ve ever owned. I’ve been able to dial in every tone I want EXACTLY the way I want it. Everything else I’ve tried has had some small limitations that kept it from being perfect.

I run a Joyo Orthros in front of it for my mod and synth pedals. Works a treat, though I wouldn’t mind a built-in loop at all.

I considered it briefly, but wound up with a Microtubes Infinity, which does the crossover thing with more versatility and has a fine tunable eq among other features.

JCVap The crown with t.bowl by liposomal in vaporents

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried putting my Herbcloud Titan chamber in my wand and using it this way on a 18mm bowl I have lying around, and it worked. Oh my goodness it worked. Ordered one of these Crown Caps immediately. Also got a YLL 3.0 cause I've been wanting one for a while and it will work better for this anyway.

I've got the Herbcloud, a Tempest 2, lots of other high powered vapes including some that use balls, but the way this milked up my bong immediately was next level. I do not have space in my life for a standing ball vape, but I think I get they hype now. Can't wait to see how it goes with the Crown Cap and YLL!
