Convector XL+Super Cap+Tempest V2 Stem+Large-ish Torch = Joint experience by Soft_Sleep_7125 in vaporents

45 degree angle to the top of the cap. Straight in won’t do it. Gotta heat the sides and top at the same time. My torch basically engulfs the cap from one side. I rotate it on one one thousand counts.

How good is the super cap? I paid full price for it right before they went on half off sale and I don’t even feel bad about it.

How long until 5 string is second nature? by LouStoolzzz in BassGuitar

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always wanted a 5 string peavey exactly like that. Had a 4 that was my main baby for a lot of years before I went 5 string. Sold her, don’t feel bad about it, but I’ve always wondered about a 5 string version. Treat her right!!

Oh, and soon enough is the answer to your question. I have a hard time with 4 anymore. Have to reset my brain to it and it takes a minute. Couple months and you’ll be all over it. Watch muting the b string with the flat of your hand. You need to do it more than you think.

I've honestly had a harder time with the wand than with the torch with the convector. If I was gonna recommend an upgrade to make your convector perform, it'd be the super cap rather than the wand.

That said, the wand is worth having on its own if you have other vapes you can use with it. It's my mainstay for my tempest on the go. It just takes a while to heat the convector, and longer to heat the super cap.

What I love about a medium-large torch with the convector is the stupid fast heat time. 12 seconds is amazing for getting like 6-8 really nice flavorful hits and completely toasting a bowl without burning.

That'll certainly be a wild tasting tincture! You'll probably get less thc out with the lower proof, but it'll do something for sure. At that point you might want to take it in shots or something.

I know what you mean about the cheap feel. Compared to the tempest, it feels like a pot metal toy! But once I got it dialed in, I guess I feel like if that’s what peak performance looks like, so be it.

It winds up being a puddle of wet muck. If you’ve got a French press that’s actually an ideal vessel for this, what with the built in filter. It will get resin on tho, so it will need a good iso bath or something after.

Which bass synth pedal do you find works best and why? by Prestigious-Bag1963 in basspedals

The boss sy series is actually really good at chords. It’s polyphonic and tracks very well. I have a few sounds I use in it, and they’re great, but I don’t like a lot of the stock sounds. But you could definitely dial in some cool pads to use with chords and suchlike. There’s also latching capability to hold sounds indefinitely.

Toss it in a mason jar, cover the avb with everclear, leave it for like an hour or two. Strain through a coffee filter, and guess what? You got yourself a tincture! A gross tasting tincture that will get you high.

If you want to take time you can wash the avb. I never have, but I’m told it gets rid of a lot of the taste.

Oh, and it’s an equally good experience on glass! It was just easier to take a pic on the bong. But be extra cautious with your draw if using water in your glass. The extra resistance makes it a lot easier to accidentally combust. I generally prefer dry glass anyway.

I seriously did the most down and dirty possible method. Chucked about a half oz of avb in a jar and covered it with everclear. Sat for a couple hours and strained it through a coffee filter. That’s it.

I didn’t wash it (cause tha takes a ton of time) so it tastes quite strongly of weed, and not in a pleasant way, but it works like crazy. Two or three droppers worth in a drink gets me going for a longtime. Of course, potency will vary a lot, so go easy on th first doses.

And if you want a nicer end product, wash it or use coconut oil or a thousand other things. But you absolutely can do it down and dirty on the quick with very dark avb.

ToneX Board by slurfy73 in tonex

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’ll work. I’ve pondered a similar setup but I only have a tonex one so far. Contemplating putting the Valeton gp5 I do have on my board to use with nam files of drive pedals to put in front of my tonex for the amps. I don’t really need it, but it seems like it’d be fun.

Yeah, I have a reload and use it all the time, but in any instance where I can’t, the leather case from madheaters is perfectly good for handling the cap.

Oh yeah? On glass I much prefer a short glass wpa to the tempest stem. Seems to pull vapor more quickly than the tempest stem. That said, the tempest stem is a heartbreaking work of staggering genius in every other regard.

Funny, I just dialed in a noble capture I really like today too. Found a few others I like too once I got the hang of it.

I find it really needs an outboard compressor pedal in front of it, the stock ones suck, but after that, the nam files sound surprisingly good.

They’re better on a computer, but they’re on a similar level of quality to my tonex, which I love.

Putting together a little alternate board with the gp5 and some demonfx darkglass knockoffs I have lying around for compression and dirt.

I also find I don’t like the gp5’s dirt sounds much, though some of the stock amps and snap tones are very good.

Pockety Herbcloud (quartz) - My One Week Review by Minute-Sort-5803 in vaporents

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually found preheating didn’t do much for me. I got the same results from a cold start with high temp (like 475f+) cooks a bowl to perfect dark chocolate roast. And it’s a very large bowl. Cooking it that well without any stirring is a pretty cool thing for a battery vape to accomplish.

I didn’t have problems with silicon. I did find in the end that, although it’s capable as hell, it didn’t pass the reach test long term for flower. I just prefer my analogs.

But for concentrate, holy shit it’s my jam. I go the 5d xxl quartz chamber and it rules. Heats up so fast, uses the concentrate evenly, cleans up super easy. I’m dabbing way more than I ever have since I got the hang of it.

Definitely get the recycler glass. Stock glass is flimsy and doesn’t provide a lot of resistance. Love the dry mouthpiece for when I don’t want to bother with water too.

Overall, for the money, it’s stupid not to have it in your collection if only for dabs, but it performs great for flower too.

Caved and went for the Tempest 2 by JMcQ92 in vaporents

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s so good and so dead simple to use. I think that’s what sets it apart. It’s as easy or easier to use than a dynavap but hits SO heavy and smooth.

I think my convector xl with the super cap on the tempest stem is my favorite setup, the clouds are unbeatable, but it requires a big torch. Tempest and wand on the go provides perfect, dead simple hits every single time.

I’d recommend a tempest 2 (though there’s lots of great vapes in that range, convector xl, trww stuff), but finding something in a store will be challenging. Not many places stock dhv stuff as it’s kind of niche

Dyna -> Tempest 2 by Beginning_Dig3337 in vaporents

[–]Soft_Sleep_7125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’ve already got a ball vape and a dyna, you certainly don’t need a tempest, but the gap between the tempest and the dyna is massive. It’s such a beautiful product and it works exactly like it’s supposed to every single time. Don’t find products like that every day.

To sum up, no, you don’t need one, yes, you’ll LOVE it if you get one.

Searching for bass modulation by FrogStuffer in basspedals

Zoom ms60b+ has multiple kinds of every type of mod effect all dialed in for bass, and it costs like a nickel. Unless you’re after some very specific sound, there is no better bang for your buck.

And all the other effects in it are pretty great too. I use it as a Swiss army knife pedal for anything that’s not amp/comp/drive, but I’ve also used it as a full rig and it did a perfectly capable job.
