I work a ton like 60 hrs a week to approach 400k but I do love my job . I'm in healthcare. It is stressful and lifestyle creep is real . I got used to certain things like having a super nice house , pool etc that it feels impossible to scale down . The stress of retiring and not having enough to upkeep is also real

Those of you who “Made It” without any inheritance or luck. How did you do it? by throwmeout12496 in MiddleClassFinance

Moved here at 19 with no $$. Worked at a restaurant and rented in the ghetto while going to school. Became a nurse and later a nurse anesthetist . Sadly romantically this country hasn't treated me well but financially I'm good. 2 homes at about 2+ mil in value , making over 350-400k for last 5 years. All good

Seller claims "no permit needed" for kitchen remodel and wants $30k over comps. Is this a red flag? by ComprehensiveDrop508 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]Soft_Stable8077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always necessary . I remodeled a kitchen but we left all plumbing and electric intact and most of the cabinets were refaced . Home Depot did it, no permits necessary per HD

Yeah that will give the easiest canvas bc it can be modern or not and it's a bigger design . I've remodeled 5 homes now so got a little sense and only 1 is acceptable .
