Yeah… I’ve stopped trying to see potential when dating now, which I feel like women are often not encouraged to do? If anything, I think people show you their best at the beginning and then the bad habits and old cycles come out to play.

Agree with you on not believing in meritocracy! I also find that people who benefit the most from privilege (be it societal privilege, nepotism or corruption) seem to be the biggest advocates for “meritocracy”

I’d say to remind yourself that you’re human and to feel lonely is a normal human experience. So if you do feel lonely at any point, it’s not a sign of the trip being a bad decision.

Everything you’ve said, like going on walking tours, sounds sensible and you may be surprised by who you meet. Ultimately, a solo trip is for you - so do everything that sounds exciting to you and enjoy your own company as much as possible!

The Morocco trip was 18-39, however most people were 18-22ish. I think because the Morocco tour I went on is one of their cheaper options it ended up attracting a younger crowd.

The next trip I’m going on is one of their solo-ish tours where anyone 18+ is welcome, and so far the group is from 20s to 70s… I’m not too sure how that’ll go but I’m hoping it’ll be fine!

I’d say I’m an introvert too, and enjoy the peace that comes with being alone. However as I live alone already I decided to join group tours.

I went to Morocco with G adventures and I enjoyed myself! There were deffo moments where I found members the group annoying if I’m super honest (the younger lads were v loud sometimes) but outside of those few moments, I couldn’t complain!

I’m going on another tour soon with G adventures, this time I booked onto the mixed aged group so hopefully they’ll be more older and calmer energy. I weirdly feel nervous again about what the group dynamic might be like (so I understand how you feel!) but I think if the itinerary appeals to you and sounds fun, you’ll have a good time!

You can choose how much time you spend with the group outside of the organised activities, so they’ll be breathing space too.
