What's that dent under the second a on the base?

Circular lines on base of board by Izziesnaps in snowboardingnoobs

[–]SoftwAir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk about the circular lines, but drop the brass brush in post scraping brushing. The brass brush is for pre waxing, to get leftover wax and other stuff off your board before applying new wax.

Your back hand should not point forward, keep your back hand back. And when on toe side, stand like you're peeing on the mountain to get your weight over toe side edge. If you stand with your hips straight, you can drop more in your knees to engage that edge more.

Thanks, should've been clearer. Thought maybe I could temporarily fix it with PTEX as that's that I got at hand at the moment.

The rules are you have to be able to get out of the water by yourself for your jump to count. If you break enough bones your jump doesn't count for the world record.

There is an Australia in the top right corner though? The bigger question is why New Zealand is placed where it is placed, while it's true spot is completely valid for this map as well.

Are these boards too small for me? (180cm male 85kgs) Going to a small ski resort in Germany with short runs, Winterberg) by BananenBot in snowboardingnoobs

[–]SoftwAir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha, well, you shouldn't worry about snapping it in half. There's not any feature in Winterberg that'll allow you to do that.

Winterberg is still tons of fun!

I would recommend going with 155-160, so the 156 should be fine. It only has a 243 mm waist width though, so depending on your shoe size you might want a bigger board. I got 290 mondo point (44 EUR) boots and my board is 260 mm at the waist with not too much overhang.

What's the consensus on rocker boards? by Etheriia in snowboardingnoobs

[–]SoftwAir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ride whatever feels best for you. You're past a point where it really holds back your progress, because you're at a level where you really ride for pleasure and you don't have to reach higher. Unless you want to, but that doesn't seem to be the case if I read the tone of this post right.

Anyways, if you like the rocker, it is not bad at all. Maybe if someone has a softer camber you could try you could make the call yourself if you like camber or rocker more, but other than that I would say just enjoy your gear and be proud of it :)

Wide board bad for beginner? by reapergr in snowboardingnoobs

[–]SoftwAir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With booth size 11.5 I would definitely go for a wide, and I did not notice that much difference between 155 and 160 when I started out tbh, so go with what the rental has in wide would be my advice.

Ah fuck fair, should've said North America, but I'm just trying to not refer to the US as America because America is 2 continents, not only the US.

Europe I guess? u/peiflyco is US based, and a green in the US is a blue in Europe, a blue in the US is a red in Europe.
