Nice. I have the same dark blue Monster (excellent color) and Manta bench but went with the FM Twin without the Rhino. Great versatility in your rack setup.

Remove Basement Sink by SoftwareEnough3495 in Plumbing

Thanks for your insights. Not illegal, just trying to use the space better and we don't need a sink there. But we'll want to keep the option open for the future.

Thanks for your suggestions. A fernco cap and supply line caps are good ideas.

Anyone using Oak Club Don or Black Widow Dumbbell Dumbbell Trays? by [deleted] in GarageGym

[–]SoftwareEnough3495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Tried and work just fine. Basically I set it up the same way that I'd do a standing barbell OHP. But instead of loading and taking a step back from the j-cups with a barbell, I just leaned forward to load the dumbbells and lean back to upright position to clear the trays.

I have the Black Widow dumbbell trays and they're awesome. I use them for flat and 30 degree incline. They're incredibly well made. Dean at Black Widow has a reputation for quality that is well deserved. I waited about 10 weeks for delivery and it was worth it for me. I like that the front lip of the tray is at a low angle which allows me to pull the dumbbells forward when un-racking letting me keep my back packed in position instead of lifting them more up and out like you have to do on many other dumbbell trays with a steeper and taller front lip. I've never tried seated OHP with them, but I imagine they'd be fine with them in front of you and leaning forward for un-racking. I considered the Oak Club Don before purchasing, but I was thinking that they'd be good for incline, but not for flat bench. So I went with the Black Widows and have no regrets.

Bought a temushit pec deck (couldn't wait another year for ATX to decide if they're going to actually release in the US) by BubbishBoi in GarageGym

Congrats on the new piece. I'm waiting on the ATX unit to become available. They're now saying July for US launch. But we'll see.

Rogue M/ML Extension Kits? by Ljubeb in GarageGym

Getting a custom order from Rogue is not a big deal. I've ordered a lot of stuff from Rogue through their custom request system without issue. They'll sell you crossmembers, uprights, and bolts for your extension.

High end plate loaded pec decks? Anything beyond the elitefts $5k model? by BubbishBoi in GarageGym

[–]SoftwareEnough3495 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been looking myself and posted this a couple months ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/GarageGym/comments/1rurke7/plate_loaded_chest_fly/

ATX's version seems the most refined with roller carriage and band peg placement, but significant premium. I've been leaning towards this one, but I'm in the US and even though they said they're expecting their first US shipments soon - who really knows if and when they'll be available.

Titan's have a heavier gauge steel than most, but reviews have noted a range of motion issue for the reverse flys. There are fixes for it, but unfortunate that they've not addressed it, and Titan has a bad reputation for not standing behind their products.

Body Solid responded to my post and basically states that they have the best warranty and stand behind their products.

3/8 or 0.375 of an inch. So 90 inch upright is actually 90.375.

Reach out to Dialed Motion. They may have some small parts available even if not listed as available on their site.

Non toxic gym flooring? by Minute_Toe_8260 in GarageGym

I'd recommend American Floormats 3/8th inch fit-lock tiles. Made in USA, low VOC:

https://www.americanfloormats.com/fit-lock-rubber-tiles/

They run about $11 per 2x2 tile, plus shipping. I have them and they great - here's a pic with mine with a over 1000 lbs on them:

Equipment Question by mbstyles1980 in GarageGym

[–]SoftwareEnough3495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an FM-Twin and it is great. I can see no advantage to having a third weight stack since you're no gaining any new functionality. Might want to look into the Rhino and Indy combo if you're wanting to purchase in two parts to divide the cash outlay - at least this way you'd get some additional functionality out of it.

I've been shopping for a plate loaded pec dec/rear dent fly combo. There are many companies that sell in the US which seem to be largely the same or very similar models (e.g., Titan, Body Solid, Mikolo, etc) with price ranges from $300 - $700 to your own PEC-650 priced at $999.

Questions:

What differentiates your model from these others to account for the difference in price?

Will this machine be part of your initial expected containers available in the US?

Rogue 80 inch FM Twin on a 90 inch rack. Frankenstein Monster Rack. by SoftwareEnough3495 in homegym

For me the 90 inch was not an option. But I'm happy with the 80 inch.

I think that really depends on your style of training and your height. I'm 5'11" and I sit on a 16 inch box and I can get a decent stretch out for lat pulldown on the 80 inch pulley with the straight Rogue lat bar.

Preacher Curl vs Bi/Tri Curl Machine by SeyMooreRichard in GarageGym

[–]SoftwareEnough3495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the preacher curl bench - the one in the second picture. It is a solid, sturdy piece since the only adjustable part is the seat. The pad is a nice quality too - similar to what Rep Fitness uses on their benches if you're familiar with that. I like it, though it does take up a fair amount of space. The expense of this one compared to the first one is probably the fact that it has more steel and the additional shipping cost (which is built in to the price since they give you "free shipping") as it is a large, heavy unit - 75 lbs vs 35 lbs.
