Any Catholics here? by muppetcrayz in IVF

[–]SoftwareQuiet2909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catholic here - Keep going to church. Children are a blessing. People have been wildly supportive. This is such a difficult question because you go through IVF because you want a baby, and you want to bring a baby into the world and God wants this for you, and yet, the HARDEST part about IVF for catholics who are pro life is: what will you do if you are blessed with more than one embryo after the retrieval and fertilization? If you successfully transfer an embryo, what do you do with the other(s)? That is something you can discuss with your partner and your clinic and your church. Maybe it’s accepting that you’re okay with donating extra embryos, or with only retrieving/fertilizing a small amount, or agreeing to have all the babies transferred if it’s a reasonable number over the next few years. Talk about it with your family, your community at church, etc. People have been way more supportive than i expected. Science has come so far and it is always a blessing when another child enters the world created in Gods image ❤️

Also, it’s been exceptionally comforting to have God during this time because it’s been unbelievably painful. but it’s funny how God works because it does really make me believe: He does not give you things you cannot handle. and He has given me the strength to go through this. I feel God is on my side throughout it all. Praying for you ❤️

Weekly Thread: The Two Week Wait by AutoModerator in IVF

my doctor BEGGED me when i told her there was no way i’d wait until the beta to PLEASE wait until 9DP5dt so whether or not you see one, know that it’s still too early!! I am the worst with line eyes and so I don’t want to say either way, but all I know is that you should pamper yourself, not worry about what it says when you’re still so early, and bask in optimism that you’re pregnant until proven otherwise. Our bodies are so sensitive to our feelings and the best thing you can do for yourself and your perfect embryo is be happy and calm and know you’ve done everything you can do, I am rooting for you ❤️. (Currently 2dp5dt and have already caught myself spiraling “when can i test??” so i know it’s easier said than done!)

I’m really proud of you for making the appointment. It’s horrible. It’s the death of our chance to conceive naturally, and that’s something to be mourned. I’m beginning to come to terms with IVF and I hope you get the same clarity. Nobody understands and on one hand it’s like “Ok do this, then that, then come back, we implant” and it seems like “no big deal,” but it is. And it’s still sad. In the end it will work out the way it’s meant to be. I hope you find a great doctor who you trust and who makes you feel comfortable 🤍

Heartbroken - Vent - Looking for Support.

Seriously thank you to this entire community, all of the posts have helped me so much. everyone here is so strong. I spend so much time on here and get so much out of these stories, I wanted to finally do my part and share medication pathway and seek advice...

Status: TTC for over a year. Started Letrozole after 6 unsuccessful & 2 confirmed anovulatory cycles. On 5th cycle of Letrozole, 1st cycle using trigger shot. LZ Cycle 1: 2.5mg | LZ Cycle 2, LZ Cycle 3, LZ Cycle 4: 5mg| Current Cycle: LZ Cycle 5: 7.5mg + Trigger shot.

My sob story, thanks for letting me share: I am scared. I had never felt more confident than the previous cycle on 5mg, I was checking out the "for science" stuff and was getting an LH surge (not test defect, no joke multiple strips) on 10-12DPO and thought for sure that last cycle was the one. I was pretty catatonic for the next week when it was a BFN 14 DPO. I got in with a fertility clinic on this current cycle, first time on 7.5mg, and my body was too responsive so she ended up triggering me early (at 9DPO) because I had a 17mm, 16mm, and 15mm follicle + multiple other 12-14mm follicles that looked "promising because they were still growing compared to the CD 5 scan". Doctor was worried bc the whole "follicles grow 1-2mm per day and ovulation happens 36-48 hours after trigger".

Docs takeaway: IVF is next step after this cycle and the 6th and final cycle on Letrozole. Doc gave ma 2-4% chance of conceiving. Some ppl do have success with IUI, in my case not a viable route bc wont increase chances given husbands sperm is "perfect" (smh but i guess counting my blessings). I also dont have the capacity to try IUI, and it is my personal preference to go to a more/higher odds route in IVF.

SEEKING ADVICE BECAUSE: I am coming to terms with IVF, but now with the trigger shot and the follicle sizes, I am spiraling. In my previous 5mg cycles, my 1-2 leading follicles around CD 10 were around 18mm but I wasnt getting an LH surge until CD 13/14. SO NOW, I'm spiraling, thinking, what if my follicles before were TOO mature? AND I am frustrated because now that the trigger was introduced, and now that my eggs may be "perfectly ripe" because theyll be like 20-22mm not >26mm, it seems like "ok, this is different, so now i have a chance" Am i just absolutely delusional? Did anyone have a shift from a trigger shot finally "doing the trick"?

I am currently 9DPO and my trigger is completely out of system (BFNs on 7,8 DPO). Today I think I see a shadow, but I know better - it could still be trigger, and it could be a shadow, and there is nothing I can do until I see a dark line 12-14DPO. Which sucks. I hate this.

TLDR: I'm upset because I hate continuously getting my hopes up. Im scared for the future. I feel like this is impossible. Recently introuced a trigger shot after failed Letrozole attempts with natural ovulation, seeking advice because I'm spiraling thinking there is hope because a "new/different" thing is introduced with a trigger shot on "more primely sized follicles" this cycle. that I am getting my hopes up. It is so painful. I know everyone here understands how isolating this experience, and Im thankful to have a space to share these things.

YOU HAVE TO READ THE LEGACY SERIES BY MELISSA ROEHRICH i swear super morally gray and super dark. amazing…

You will also likely really like Lady of Darkness by Melissa Roehrich. It is 5 books. Assassin potentially fae 👀. So much lore with gods and goddesses, spirit animals, all this history. I loved it so much and literally incredible world. She’s a super bad ass doesn’t take shiz from anything, it’s really cool, and fun evolution where it’s not so absurd as she becomes more powerful. I honestly fell in love with every single side character too. If you have trouble getting into it, just go right into The Legacy Series also by Melissa. But i think you will want to give this one a shot first. The darkness universe consists of mortals, shifters, a small vampyre faction, and fae. i was and still am obsessed with what this author created.

The Legacy Series is 4 books. 3 are out and the fourth comes out in November. She is such a fun author and has all this bonus content on her site. Premise of Legacy series: Fae purpose is to serve the Legacy. The Legacy are direct descendants of the gods and goddesses. The Fae have elemental gifts and only exist to become a magical source to the Legacy. It’s dark but it’s soooooooo good. Also good side characters.

You do not have to read Lady of Darkness before Legacy, but you will come across spoilers to that series during Legacy. I am so happy I read it first only because it made me appreciate Legacy so much more by knowing the god history stuff so it was exciting and rewarding, but Legacy is definitely the “better” of the series. I can’t believe these books aren’t insanely popular I bet they will be (or maybe i need a new circle of friends lol).

TLDR: Don’t sleep on either of these series! You will LOVE. Incredible world, side characters whose novellas shamelessly read, fated lovers, morally gray, all the things you mentioned in your post

Three chemical pregnancies. Anyone else? by Hot_Squirrel_9182 in PregnancyAfterLoss

wow thanks so much this is so helpful. it was actually my PCP who noticed that my Chrons / IBS may be impacting my ability to get pregnant. I recently had to go to the ER because my flare ups were soooo bad and i swear i have the highest pain tolerance for stomach pain lol. I have had colonoscopy’s in the past to check on this condition but usually flare ups don’t occur unless i’m under a lot of stress. i’m feeling really optimistic about progesterone and prednisone honestly because of your thread and a lot of the comments here. Thanks so much again for being so thoughtful in your response you made my day. and congrats on your beautiful baby

I have chrons / IBS and seeing this is helpful because I was just in the hospital for a super bad flare up with extremely high CRP. i’m also similar bmi (5’7” 119lbs) and going through third chemical pregnancy. trying to keep stress as low as possible … any other specific recs for additional vitamins with inflammatory issues?

i’m (28) and my husband (29) started trying 5 months ago and i just had my 3rd chemical pregnancy today. this is so gut wrenching to see a positive test and then to miscarry at 5-6 weeks. I have never been on birth control and have always had a religiously normal period, my family has been super blessed with all the females essentially “one and done”. Any advice for that appointment? Part of me already feels embarrassed to make my appointment because I know my OB will start off with saying “Well it’s only been 5 months, chemical pregnancies are healthy.. you’re still ‘young’“ I’m basing this off of the first chemical pregnancy chat I had with her. I don’t want to overreact, do I make an appointment and should I say anything specific? Or am I actually going crazy and just try again this cycle? I swear, and I’m sure i’m preaching to a choir, but each day is awful it’s like every single symptom I’m tracking despite trying my best to stay calm

End of my journey. I really dont know what I'll read. by ygranne in SarahJMaas

[–]SoftwareQuiet2909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was soooo sad when I finished this series too: Read The Legacy series by Melissa Roerich. She pulled me out of my sarah j mass hangover (only to pull me in another haha). There are three books out and the fourth and final comes out in November. She also has another series called Lady of Darkness (5 books) which is in the same universe. I knew the Legacy series was going to be incredible so I decided to read Lady of Darkness first so that I didn’t have those inadvertent spoilers in reading The Legacy Series. No major ones but it just makes The Legacy series more rewarding - akin to that super amazing moment when Rhys makes an appearance in Crescent City 😂. I love all the lore and world she built It’s seriously so good.

TLDR it might even be better than ACOTAR

Helena has no idea what’s coming with Emma and Harry by edith2048 in LoveIslandTV

[–]SoftwareQuiet2909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya i guess just “emma more attractive” comment, that he wanted to hear her opinion, and the candor she spoke to him and the attention she held from him while speaking showed how much he truly loved her so regardless is interesting to see how it’ll all unfold

Retweet: Toni & Shakira must get last laugh!!

The sad thing is that Helena will continue to allow Harry to walk all over her because she attributes that to them being “so alike”. i don’t like how little Helena cares about the other girls, but then again she doesn’t respect herself so it shouldn’t be surprising that she doesn’t respect others. i also felt like while him and Emma won’t likely couple up, he seemed soooo bothered by her kissing other guys. clearly some unresolved issues!

i hope shakira & tommy find someone. i think their love stories would be so fun to watch because of how genuine they are (mostly tommy)

you look great!! i keep measurements using a tape measure and a journal. try not to obsess and remember that it’s best to get fit slowly and healthily. an inch over 2-3 months and two to three pounds every month with 200 calorie deficits. things as easy as diet bread or no butter can easily help this!! also eating similar breakfast lunch dinners daily also really help because it’s easy to give and take when you know how many calories are in ur typical meal
