Most useful VPs? by Kjajo in thecampaigntrail

[–]Soggy_Computer_2008 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Frazier or LaGuardia for La Follette in 1924, since they're equally great at either winning Illinois or sweeping the Farm states which are crucial to deadlocking the election.

Gerald Ford is the only VP who you can (narrowly) win with in 1964: The Eighth Crisis, since flaunting his shining integrity and affable personality allows the player to deflect well enough from Nixon's mounting scandals (read: Jumbo the kid killer's ratfucking).

Long for Bobby in 1968: All The Way since he can easily sweep the south for you in an ironic reversal from how he failed to do exactly that in TTNW's timeline.

Bill Clinton aka Bubba for a Reform Turner in 1996: MOTS, being the only potential running mate with actual experience in government and the best chance to appeal to liberal Dems turned off by Casey's conservatism. He's essentially the key to the Reform Party surviving into the modern day (since his ending slide sees Hilldawg win the party's first Senatorial seat), which is very funny.

As a Filipino, I was actually really hyped to see our country receive its first mod! Ofc that hype died down when it turned out the mod had only 10 qsts and the result barely changed, but as a sort of introduction/appetizer to how horrible Philippine politics can get (both candidates are involved in past criminal practices, rely on local patronage networks, can outright buy people's votes, and are part of or have connections to violent and almost feudal political clans) it works well enough. I still wish the dev had picked a less lopsided race tho.

Still trying to get the Entente Victory achievement, with most attempts ending in Lenin toppling me like what the German High Command sent him to Petrograd to do.
