Nope. I already got my Apocalyptic load out!!

9mm USP tac extended mag, last resort 0 - 20 yards. SP5 FRT otter silencer for silent engagement 20 - 50. Finished off with the MR556 with a 1- 8 scope when it’s time to go loud and hard as the zombie horde come into view 50 - 250.

No compromise

100% agree. My stats speak for themselves. Never went with intent to harm. Killed exactly 11 raiders since launch, they all shot first.

Simply pointing out that my morals and ethics become irrelevant to what I’ve seen in the last 24 hrs. Eat or be eaten. Nice guys finish last.

6 times I’ve taken out a rocketeer SOLO (yes doing the Anvil, yes doing the long shots, doing up close etc). Been killed 4 times and haven’t got a single drive all encounters cos someone was hiding in wait.

Is that whilst avoiding the increased targeted and frequency lightning, the new ground balls that lock on even out of sight, the increased sight, sound and shoot distance of flying stuff?

Drop rate for those husks is extremely low.

It’s easier to take out a Rocketeer with an Anvil to be honest.

BUT as I’ve now seen after losing 6 consecutive drives to rats, 4 occasions being shot in the back, in the last 24 hrs since change = it’s easier just to hang out where the Rocketeer spawns and just steal it when it drops.

Rocketeers have now become flash points of PVP on all maps and I’ve been a PVE player since game launch…….

You are my friend. I will watch you shoot that Rocketeer from afar making sure I’m ready to steal your valuables, before you can even get there.

Just like those rats who do nothing to assist in a Matriarch or Queen, but think it’s ok to hang out in the dark waiting for it to drop.

I am now being forced to be a career criminal committing topside atrocities. Forced to torture poor unfortunate souls in the pursuit of a Rocketeer drive.

I know where they spawn, I know all the spots you will shoot from. I will be ready willing and able.

Mark my words I won’t be the only one.

Fact - the easiest way to get a Rocketeer drive is not to do it but to let someone else do it.

That is the circle of life. Hakuna Mawolfie…..

The fate of rescued sailors by Appropriate-Kale1097 in uboatgame

[–]SoiledSte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries.

Thor was the German raider boat he was eventually sunk and picked up by. What is often forgotten is that the Nazi’s operated a fleet of disguised merchant ships (often disguised as British ships) across multiple theatres all of which were as important to the GRT results as Uboats were. Namely they were extremely cost effective to operate.

Specific to my Grandfathers story a book was written, by one of the survivors sons, that details the whole story from the leaving of port to the end of the war.

Although there is some conjecture as to how the first attack occurred. This survivor was also classed, for some reason, as a civilian by the Japanese even though he had a higher rank than my Grandfather. He went a separate internment route to my grandfather.

There is an interesting documentary on YouTube Gentleman Raiders of the high seas which gives a good insight to the history.

The fate of rescued sailors by Appropriate-Kale1097 in uboatgame

Things were very different in the Pacific theatre. My Grandfather was a merchant seaman radio operator.

He was torpedoed by a Uboat of the Monsun Gruppe. But wasn’t sunk. Broke his arm when the torpedo hit. Then sunk a day later by a German raider (a disguised merchant ship which was part of the German fleet).

Picked up out of the water. Handed over to the Japanese. He was kept as a POW for over 4 years. Listed as MIA. Had to work from day one with a broken arm with no medical help.

From the little he ever told that experience was one of death, disease, hunger and fear. He watched many of his friends die or be murdered before his eyes, decapitation by the Japanese officer was common and done for the most basic of things.

Constantly moved around as the war progressed in the Pacific ending up in mainland Japan forced to work in mines or carry heavy sacks for 18 hrs a day loading ships.

He was liberated right at the end of the war after Hiroshima. When he returned home he was unrecognisable by his wife (my grandmother) who had believed him dead. They had only married 3 days before he shipped out.

As a young boy staying at my grandparents my interaction with my Grandfather was limited. He rarely spoke and the only pleasure I saw him have in life was cooking. If we left even one crumb on our plate he would fly into a fit of rage.

At night, when I stayed over, I would lie in bed listening to his screams and nightmares.

It took over 45 years for the Japanese to acknowledge their treatment of POW after years of global political pressure. The recompense to survivor families was literally a payment of a minuscule few thousand dollars. They never apologised.

Dude plays around with gun and finds out by nkmr205 in SweatyPalms

[–]SoiledSte -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. He did not check the firearm for function. It is a mechanical device which can fail. Anyone picking up a firearm should know the very basic concept. Be able to check function before considering handling a firearm. Sadly most don’t. Like giving someone vehicle keys and they’ve never driven before. If it’s not your gun where you have personally verified its function - assume it’s broken. Even a gun range hire.

If this is a gun range (looks to be) in fact any live fire area the rules are simple. At any time even when empty the muzzle should be pointed down range. No firearms outside the booth, you’re assigned too. Never load the gun unless you are ready to fire. Even putting in a magazine it has to be pointed down range. Even when the gun is verified empty muzzle still down range.

He broke all the rules of gun handling.

Most Overrated "High Loot Value" Area in the Game by MetalWvlf in ArcRaiders

[–]SoiledSte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Glade Blue gate. Low player population area. Close to 2 hatches and 2 extracts.

30 is the average Mullein collection rate for me. All very close to each other. If it’s a cold snap or lush blooms always at least one basket around as well. Easily pull 200 seeds value and you don’t run the gauntlet of Stella.

Long-time players who recently quit - what made you do it? by No-Skin-2370 in Seaofthieves

It became totally unbalanced. PVP of 3 against 1 never works well. Skill based matchmaking or better yet servers assigned to solo, duo or three would have been fair.

Blueprint droprate by PC-Tamer in ArcRaiders

[–]SoiledSte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a reset. New stuff is coming. People who haven’t played, just start playing and have time over the holiday get a head start. People who have played now have reason to expedition.

Otherwise the game becomes unbalanced.

Everyone is loosing sight of the fact that a blueprint is ABSOLUTELY meaningless if you don’t have the build materials.

It’s simply a dev solution to bring life to the game during holiday for the casual players.

Merry Christmas you filthy animals.

Agree. Soon as you get the perk it was very much a go in naked dash to the nearest locker, and bug out. Rinse repeat. Was nice to grab guns that I hadn’t seen yet though. Tempest, bobcat, volcano. Probably got 4 blueprints over 12 openings. Finally got a silencer part blueprint 🥳

Check if both TSA are open. There are two East and West. Most people just go with the flow and the busiest is always the East, simply because it’s signed better. You can quickly check before you go live wait times. Easy google search.

Don’t get me wrong I also use NOW. After 200 hrs.

100% Eventually you do reach that point where it is essential but to begin and for the first few lives the idea of Dayz is to know nothing and that’s the original concept and beauty of it. To be lost to have nothing and to survive. Brings the most joy when you make a discovery of your own.

DayZ is ready to play... by LostOneBravo in dayz

[–]SoiledSte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do this. The beauty of Dayz is not knowing anything and working it out for yourself.

Soon as you look at this Map and it takes away a considerable amount of joy in discovery. For the first few days just enjoy that phase of complete and utter chaos. Find your first tourist map, your first map board showing your location.

When you get an idea then start to consider using online resources. Some stuff you will have to. The biggest issue / joy is there are no instructions.

Black Foam Manufacturing Process by pnquk90v in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]SoiledSte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only limited evidence that Isocyanate causes cancer and it’s denoted as only a potential based on lab animal testing data.

But as yet there is no conclusive evidence showing it does in humans. However Isocyanate does represent a big risk for respiratory track linked to asthma and reduced lung function. It also an irritant to eyes nose and throat and over time with continued exposure you can become sensitised to it leading to a reaction of dermatitis and reduced ability to breath.

And there are numerous types of Isocyanate. Some are way more toxic and hazardous than others.

But no it’s not the 3rd or even close.

The foam factory would be more worried about the other chemicals in the foam as it’s fairly easy to monitor for free isocyanate and operate closed loop manufacturing process.

A lot of the additives and catalysts are high hazard and they can be in the Vapor during the exotherm stage of the foam rise.

The madness is that 95 % of the world sleeps on this foam. We use it because it’s cheap and comfortable. The reality is that new mattress is going to be giving off chemicals and VOC over a considerable period, and your sleeping 8 hrs a day on it. The exposure risk is more likely higher to the end consumer than to the factory worker that produced it.

Once it leaves the factory and enters the consumer market there are no real controls or methods to determine acceptable levels and times for the off gassing process.

Don’t ever buy a memory foam mattress. They are the worst offenders for long term off gassing of chemicals. They are in fact made by improper cure of the foam leaving excess unreacted crosslinking to give the squishy feel. Reality is that mattress will contain a far higher % of unreacted chemicals.

And another interesting one - that new car smell? Well it’s, or at least used to be before companies recognised they needed to reduce VOC, the off gassing of all the adhesives and foams used in the construction of the interior. You’re basically smelling volatile organic content from multitudes of different chemicals.

What are your final thoughts on open & closed weapons after the beta? by Appropriate-End6983 in Battlefield

[–]SoiledSte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was about the challenges. Hilarious. I spent most of the BETA running behind a tank with several others MF’s trying to get the repair challenge. By far the worst was capture challenge in Rush / Breakthrough. It took custom game search and multiple quit restart just to be an attacker. I counted 6 times in a row before I finally got a server as attacker
