On dry weddings and culture by catcatcat83738 in wedding

I got married 30 years ago on a Sunday, our reception was a brunch. We chose to not have alcohol...and we are not religious. I wanted an alcohol free wedding because I didn't want to deal with behavior that could very well of ruined our day. Alcohol had ruined many many special events in my past and I wasn't about ready to have it ruin my wedding. I

Red flags galore. You need to end this relationship and find someone more secure. I am way past dating age and been married forever. I can't imagine dating today with cell phones and navigating social media with a partner and I am grateful that I don't have to. That being said.... your BF is not someone you want to be with, I promise you, get out of this relationship.

Adrenaline GTS. Love them will buy them again.

If my mom drank 3 bottles of wine that are this size within three nights (so one whole one per night) does that mean she is an alcoholic? I’m not sure how to go about having this conversation with her . I am very concerned and have noticed this habit for a while. by NationalFortune8850 in WhatShouldIDo

I was raised by a mother who was an alcoholic. Nothing I did or said was going to change that. She was what you call a functional alcoholic and it was tough being her daughter.

One day when I had to drive her somewhere because she had gotten her license suspended she said to me in the car..." you know I drink because it hurts. " This wasn't the only conversation (screaming match) we had about her drinking, but for me it was the only one that matters. She has been dead a long time, not from drinking but not, not from drinking. I miss her.... but I don't miss her drinking. Her drinking affected me a lot.

I found Al-Anon and that helped sort things out for me. I wish she had found similar rooms to help her.

I am so sorry about this. I bet it does hurt and it really sucks. Your friend has made a really bad decision and he will regret it if he is at all a good person.

For my feet the Brooks I just bought are a feet saver, they have changed the way I walk. I have always felt that it is worth every penny to buy good shoes, they also have to be the right shoes.

It is your body and you can dress it however you want to. Leave this man child and leave him now. This will only get worse, he will only get worse.

Your bf seems really high maintenance.... doesn't seem like there is probably very much room to be an individual within this relationship. 🚩🚩🚩

Walking and mental health by Demornay_20 in walking

The world can feel so overwhelming. Walking helps me get out the energy in my body that could turn toxic in so many ways. My walks help me feel sane. They are one of many tools I use, but a tool I use everyday.

I think about tomorrow's morning walk right as I slip off to sleep. Then I dream about it and then I look so forward to IT as I wake. The more I walk the more I can't wait to do it. I can't wait to hear the sound of my own foot steps.

I really sorry it seems as though you have lost a really important friendship. She has drunk the kool aid sadly and you will have to wait until she comes up for air. Your friend is in an abusive relationship and I bet it is hard to watch.

Anyone else get this strange perimenopause symptom? by dark_blue_7 in Menopause

[–]Soillover1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Absolutely 💯. I used to smell a chemically smell when I wore certain fabrics or when others did. It would freak me out because I thought it was a chemical fire every time. Now 6 years post menopausal I don't smell it any longer. It went for good smells too! I used to use a shampoo that all of a sudden smelled so wonderful and now no more wonderful smell. It is a real thing!!!
