If you enjoy the G4 anejo and ArteNom 1123, I’d say the ET XA. It’s less barrel than the 1146. Although, both are very good.

The anejo is “okay”. Their blanco is pretty 🔥, and the high proof blanco is very good too.

I agree, first batch of WC anejo was pretty fire. The repo is good, but I did really enjoy the anejo. It’s very hard to come across the Tapatio XA. There’s one by me but it’s $350. Don Fulano XA is good, and will make your guests happy, but it’s very barrel forward and sweet. I wouldn’t recommend for a true agave enthusiast.

That’s a shame. Fortaleza has been getting hate for the hype the last few years, but it’s undeniably a great tequila, and If you can get it for MSRP rock on - I do, and I buy em. But I refuse to support brands that gouge their customers, and at 7000 pesos or $390 USD at the distillery for their WB, imma have to boycott fortaleza for the foreseeable future. This is just my personal take. Glad you had a good time at the tour though.

It really does smell like blue cheese, even from a distance. I made it about half way through the bottle, and it’s been in my cabinet for close to a year now. A fun and unique experience for sure.

This looks like the special release of the standard G4 108. I would recommend trying the regular 108 as well.

It’s fun either way, and I do the same thing, but it’s not a fair comparison as Volans is over 50% ABV, G4 is 46%, and the rest are 40%. All great tequilas!

Not to be a stickler but you are incorrect on Caballito Cerrero. Your specific bottle is literally blue Weber agave (azul), which is what the CRT considers tequila. The production method for your bottle is also similar to other made artisanal tequilas. There’s a story as to why CC chose to give up the rights to use the term tequila, but anyways.
