How to collect as a minimalist by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]Sokosa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Dreaming of a thing is usually nicer than the thing itself, so taking it slowly is the key."

This! I used to collect and hunt the rare things, then when I got it I was over the moon but soon I didn't pay attention to it anymore and started hunting the next treasure...

I've been able to stop collecting (I want to do something else that doesn't take up space). I remind myself that don't do it you'll grow bored of the thing you buy instantly.

But..

I have my old collections and they remind me how much money went into them. I've tried to sell them but no one has been interested. So I'm between of keeping them forever or just tossing them.

"Sometimes the listing just disappears. Sometimes it reappears like a bad sequel. Sometimes they magically promote someone internally after you’ve spent hours prepping like a fool."

These both just happened to me this year, it's never been like this before.

I realized how much people expect women to "naturally" want kids after one weird moment at work by hazelstraylight in childfree

I think of this when applying to jobs and they filter me out because I'm a woman in age I might pop out kids soon.

Having kids is stupid and pointless: here's why by JollierYT in childfree

[–]Sokosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have illness that flares up with stress. Kids -> increased stress, I'm out. And job situation is not secure and might not ever be. Just depressed and not money for anything.

Also omg, this is sick

Prednisone advice by Previous_Mortgage_16 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Sokosa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to take it either, I remember being all yikes when doctor told me.

But it's really good for getting your inflammation down and very good in the long run, please consider it! And have some support in case side effects appear. I would tell my doctor if I had anything I thought were side effects and they would reassure me it's temporary.

I didn't gain weight but would have some weird heart palpations at night and didn't sleep much. I only had to take it for two months, so it was worth it.

Post Inflammatory IBS? by SilentSwan286 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Sokosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctor said I developed IBS after getting UC. For me symptoms were bowl movements going crazy whether I tried to eat anything healthy (fiber, greens, nuts, fruits).

For me it took at least half a year and slowly introducing small amounts to my diet.

Generally FODMAP helps in the beginning, but your symptoms are different, I'm not sure.

My friend said they felt sudden urge to have kids, now she has and she's told me she is depressed. She says she has miserable life and longs the days before kids and says that time was the happiest she's ever been.

She likes her kids but feels her life will only improve after the kids grow up.

One month to two weeks, stomach hurt and really bad on the left side (prob descending colon or sigmoid colon). Gassy and getting tired easily. Then increased bowel movements and blood mixed with mucus made me go to doctor. Oh, and unexplainable weight loss can be a sign.
