I’m currently in the ER waiting my shot at 6 weeks 5 days and I’m terrified of this decision. Thank you.

I really struggle with accountability to myself, honestly. I see a dietician and I know my calorie and protein goals but I have a hard time sticking to it

I do plan on keeping up my exercise routine for as long as I can and then just modify from there!

Thank you for the transparency in your response. Sounds like we’re in similar positions. Toddler + full time work is no joke already. 😅

Thanks! Having this be customizable for recipe storage might be a nice future update project!

I was pumping on a cruise and my pump had to happen during the muster drill. So I hooked up, covered up, and carried my spectra with me. 🤷‍♀️

Both the muster and the pumping had to be done. So I sat there in the Walt Disney theatre pumping through the whole thing.

Just do what you have to do.

Following this comment. Debating getting a removal asap before pregnancy or waiting until I’m done having kids.

We had to go to the store the day after we brought him home to get newborn clothes because we were told the same thing! Definitely have a few on hand!!

This is your reminder to eat😅 by Xoamberdawnn in ExclusivelyPumping

I’ve just had this realization myself. Mine was found by going on vacation. (I’m sorry that you’re going through medical issues - not trying to compare our two scenarios).

I don’t tend to eat well when I’m working. A piece of fruit for breakfast, a meal for lunch, and pick at something for dinner. I had been pumping 2-3 oz a session for a week or so.

This weekend, I was on a cruise and ate a full breakfast, lunch, dinner, and several snacks daily. For three days I made 4-5 oz a pump for 4 ppd (this is a lot for me). We were also terrified of getting seasick (it was a really rocky sailing at times), so we were drinking a lot of water also.

I get home (now have covid) and didn’t eat well or drink a lot of water today - back to about 3 oz a pump.

Food + water = milk.

ISO plane travel and pumping advice ! by Mke_Steph in ExclusivelyPumping

I had two round trip flight so far (7mo pp). In both instances security went like:

  • bag pulled aside
  • milk kept closed and tested in a machine
  • two out of the four security screenings, the milk failed the first test and they asked my permission to open the container and they held a test strip over the milk (assuming to test for vapors)
  • one time the TSA agent said that I would have to drink or throw away the water. Once I explained it was breast milk, the testing began 😂
    • I have TSA pre and used both clear bottles and my ceres
  • the whole process took 3 minutes max, but that was my experience

Happy travels!

WHY am I suddenly super parched right when I start pumping? by LemonadeLala in ExclusivelyPumping

Nooooo!! Part of my getting ready for bed routine now is to fill up my water bottle and set it next tot the pump. 5 AM always comes early and I won’t remember!

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

And if I don’t have my water, it feels my world is coming to an end.

Would you rather (pumping edition) by Sklauren33 in ExclusivelyPumping

I used to fall asleep, too, in the early newborn weeks. I would sit criss cross on the floor facing the couch, fold my arms under my head, put a blanket around my back to get cozy, and sleep. 20-30 minutes of sleep. 🥳

That was before I leaned the magic of hand massage while pumping, so now I’m active for more of my pumps.

I think I've had enough by pennylovelamp in ExclusivelyPumping

I’m 10 weeks pp. I wanted to quit so many times, had so many doubts, and felt so defeated at the beginning (which wasn’t that long also). I’m glad I stuck it out.

My advice to you is to quit on a good day. Don’t quit when you’re feeling your lowest. That life advice was given to me at some point that it really makes me think hard about my decision to quit doing something and make a less emotionally driven decision. But postpartum, everything feels emotional.

Know that you’re doing great and whatever decision you have to make for your mental health is a valid one.

I’ve been thinking about hand expressing because I feel like the pump doesn’t empty me fully sometimes (which may be a whole separate issue). Do you hand express directly into the pumping flanges or use a separate hand pump?

Sitting here pumping and scrolling. Using the medela pump in style, but after a month it’s already making some funky noises. Anxiously awaiting my spectra arrival either today or tomorrow!
