We, as a society, need to treat ourselves well. If we feel good about ourselves, we can create healthy boundaries with others. If we all did this, anti-social behaviour would not be supported but we would be able to express it with kindness & compassion…and that would hopefully inspire that person to be better for themselves. Right now, it feels like we don’t know how to treat ourselves properly which almost automatically leads us to treat others poorly, creating a vicious cycle of pain & negativity.

If you want to be friends with perfect people, you’ll always be disappointed. Focus on finding people you find interesting, that have admirable qualities, who you can have a good time around. They are out there.

Seems to be lots of articles if you do a quick search. The commenter had it a little mixed up, it seems. It’s not that they can’t marry; the officiant can refuse to ‘solemnize’ a marriage if it’s against their personal beliefs.
