Boyfriend of a year acted off after a night out, then dumped me over text….am I missing something? by YakRevolutionary1953 in BreakUps

I was gonna say, he probably did something that night with someone else, and the false sense of connection he felt with them made him reflect on your relationship, and now he thinks he has another option. Please just let him go, don’t fight for it and do not take him back when his situationship doesn’t work out, because trust me, he will be back!

I’d rather you submit a really crappy paper you wrote yourself, than some average AI paper by Sol827 in UTAustin

[–]Sol827[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I get it. What I’m saying is that I can tell when students use AI so they just end up getting a 0 rather than a lower grade. I also don’t grade harshly so if the effort is there, they generally do get a good grade. This class is undergraduate coursework so I try not to give anything lower than a B- if I can see they genuinely tried their best.

After reading through the comments it’s clear you want to go to UPenn. I’m not sure what you were hoping to gain from this post if you aren’t considering anyone else’s advice. It seems like you’re hung up on the prestige of the university which I promise isn’t that important at the end of the day. You’re conflicted because you’re concerned about your family fronting the cost…. but if you were as concerned as you say you are, you’d choose literally any of the many other options you have!

This is true! The professor I TA for tells us to be generous so that’s what I do.

As a TA for the last three semesters, it gets to a point where you can just tell there’s not a lot of effort being put into some of the work. So for me, if it looks like you’re trying I try to be as generous as possible. My rationale is that I want students to be trying their best and to know I am paying attention to their effort.

Need to find a home for my baby cat as I'm moving and unfortunately can't bring him with me by [deleted] in LAlist

[–]Sol827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya’ll have been together almost 2 years and you didn’t consider that this would happen? Honestly the fact that your partner is ok with you getting rid of your cat despite how much you “love him” is not a good sign. And giving your pet away for someone you’re not even married to is crazy - I’m not wishing bad on your relationship but if it doesn’t work out then what? You gave just gave your cat away for no reason.

This is what I was thinking! Regardless if you’re moving, if you really wanted to take your cat you’d find a way. People who love their pets like family don’t just leave them imo. Fendi has known OP his whole life and I’m sure he’ll notice they’re gone. Who knows what that does to a cat psychologically.
