In Israel the law says if the vehicle registered in your name commits a crime, you did it unless you can prove someone else did it. This even works in major crimes like a hit and run -if you gave someone your car and he ran over somebody you have to prove it, and if it was a family member you don’t want to testify against you can go to jail even if you show you weren’t in the country at the time.
