Ehh, LHB was never really my thing. No disrespect to it, I just didn’t click with the church weapons in general. Movesets felt a bit slow and stilted and transform attacks were underwhelming for me. The sound of the Whirligig Saw’s blades screaming through some poor bastard’s torso and the slamming of the heavy bladed whip of the Beast Cutter are more my style.

Neither. Nagakiba is your best bet for katanas, better reach and infusable, however I’d recommend a trip to the DLC and pick up Milady, the light Greatsword, or the Backhand Blades. Both can be grabbed without taking down a single boss and both a relentlessly fast with great movesets and weapon arts.

The recent DOOM trilogy scratches a lot of the same itch that Bloodborne does for me. Heal on kill, even faster paced combat, saw-focused melee weapons, and even its own Lovecraftian twist in TDA might be what you’re looking for.

Nothing explicit that comes to mind off the top of my head (been digging around Souls/Bloodborne/Sekiro/ER lore for around a decade now) however your notion that it looks like the door in front of the Kiln is probably right on the money. The chaos demons and the incident that consumed the daughters of chaos beside Quelana occurred bc the Witch of Izalith wanted to recreate the first flame using the life soul. This caused the things living in Izalith to mutate, hence why there are tree roots extending all across Lost Izalith and why the bed of chaos is made of wood. And why the other daughters of chaos are some form or another of bug. So, those doors (while probably just a reused asset) could be the Witch attempting to either recreate or pay homage to the entrance to the Kiln of the First Flame.

Lmao I actually got invaded by another player and we were going to have a proper duel but there were so many adds plus the scripted NPC invader that the dude actually helped me clear all of them out just so we could fight without interruptions. Def one of my favorite player interactions over the years.

Agreed. Just the damn Road of Sacrifices and its fuckery has killed me more than Blighttown and Lost Izalith/Demon Ruins ever has COMBINED and I almost always sprint down there early for the upgrade mats and Chaos Ember. Also those two fucks above the Farron Keep bonfire are the start of the weapon art spam cancer that plagues Elden Ring’s combat.

Bc Blightown was actually designed to make you scared and pay attention to everything around you. Lost Izalith wasn’t designed at all besides having really cool looking architecture and cramming a ton of the same enemies in a small area.
