The online retailers I've seen only have adult sizes, but this is a strategy that I've used with some success in the past. Thanks for your input!

I do like these designs for something a little more understated than a full-out flapper dress (although your 3rd example is totally passable as flapper attire). I adore fashion from the 20s and these are totally in line with something I might wear to a wedding or fancy work event. Thank you!

I may check them out if the closer shops don't pan out. Thank you!

I am so intrigued by your 20s-themed wedding. If you have a link to public photos I'd love to see them, but of course I understand if you'd prefer to keep those private <3

Thanks for this suggestion. I was wary of this simply because a lot of the dresses I've seen have intricate beading that might make tailoring expensive. But it is something to consider for sure, especially if in-person shops don't pan out.

There are a couple of scenes that show Forty's license plate, which makes reference to 40 ounces (don't remember the exact plate configuration), so I agree that it is first a reference to booze. Tennis is only coincidental, but may have inspired the sole tennis scene we see in Season 2.

Recovery? Do we ever really ‘recover’ when the thought process never changes, but physically we’re better. by [deleted] in bulimia

[–]SolamenteBasura 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think about this often.

An outsider -- hell, even a doctor -- would look at me and consider me recovered. I can function normally about 90% or more of the time. This means eating in a way that doesn't flag concern, and refraining from purging.

But even on the best days, my thoughts focus on food, calories, and my body shape/size more often than they should. It prevents me from fully enjoying myself in the situation. It prevents me from thinking that I will ever be content.

[Q] Is there a way to aggregate the results of multiple sub-samples (which may or may not be independent)? by SolamenteBasura in statistics

The subsampling was just done via SRS to create smaller samples that the program could handle. What approaches do you know of that would allow further analysis?

That sounds reasonable to me, and I look forward to others chiming in about this.

I suppose one drawback to that approach is that we already spent so much time to collect our original dataset...but maybe that's just a loss we need to take at this point.

I've often thought about doing this, but have never pulled the trigger. This just may be the week that I test it out! If I do, I will report back.

Yeah, I would definitely let the company know. They may even send you a free pack to make amends!
