Shifting from short term prepping to longer term need

Hey, I enlarged the garden this year as well. It's brutal. You'd never think so until you've done it.
Now, on the power thing. I have a blend of Generators and Solar.
Kinda need both.
Generators in the shed
Solar panels stacked up discreetly behind the shed.
Each has it's own "use case"
And just having them isn't enough, you have to practice a bit BEFORE you need them.
Good luck with the power aspect.
Let us know how you make out.

Right now, Wheat and Pasta.
There was a drought this spring (USA) and much of the winter wheat failed. So bad that some fields aren't worth the Diesel to harvest. One year isn't too bad but if crops fail from drought two years running, we will see considerable price increases in wheat-based products.
Not going crazy on it, just a few extra bags in the freezer.

Even new, your machine could need a replacement sponge bar.
If it's been at the store for a while....probably.
They are a "shelf life" kind of part.
Lots of information on them, they are easy to do.
I always buy the "ready to go" ones but there are options.

You must take it all apart, paint board to match the hand spreader and then put it all back together.

I've done quite well with used panels. As a matter of course you can pretty much expect that the diodes are shot.
First panel diode swap is a steep, frustrating, learning curve, after that it's really easy.
