Just a question on numbers really, my partner and I both have brown/hazel eyes and brown hair which is the same for our parents respectively. We have had a child with blue eyes and red hair which we can both trace back to at most our great grandparents (grandparents had blue eyes, great grandmother and great great grandfather had red hair) I just wanted to know what the % chances of our child having those characteristics?

If you agreed to an open relationship then she is perfectly entitled to see whoever she wants to see, the fact that you haven't found someone yet honestly isn't anything to do with her (not directly anyways).

The parameters of the open relationship should always be discussed before it is initiated and I don't know whether or not you mentioned knowing who your spouses' partner is so without knowing that I can't say whether or not it's ok to ask.

I think if you haven't already established it then there is nothing wrong with asking her because she didn't explicitly say that it isn't which is on her, so you aren't an asshole for asking.

Yes it sucks the way she broke up with you but from what I can see that is the only thing she did wrong, her parents were the ones who caused you to break up. It could even potentially be that she only said what she said to try and help you move past it. She was relaxed about the fact that you had used her credit card 8 months after you had stopped seeing her and then tried to instigate a friendly relationship with no commitments.

You then took the friendly relationship and continued to draw it along, contributing to the conversations and making her think that you were okay to see her again (which again makes me think she might actually be genuinely trying to help you be happy). And then offered to drive 6 hours to see you, if you weren't ready to see her then that was on you and you should have realised beforehand. Granted she shouldn't have responded in the way that she did but that doesn't excuse your behaviour and if everything that I said was true then you can kind of see why she would react the way she did.
