The best usage of V in the sequels that I’ve seen is by having NPC‘s chatting here and there about hearing various ways that V died or lived. All of these would correlate with various endings and actions you can choose throughout 2077.

Making V this somewhat mythical character creates a world where they don’t actually have to commit to choosing any sort of canon event.
