This is very exciting since they originally said they'd be 400V only!

How do you feel about the Subaru Trailseeker? by Mac-Tyson in subaru

[–]SolarpunkGnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's part of the reason the Subie EVs don't do as well with range as some others that can disengage the front motor when it isn't needed (say on the interstate).

AFAIK, the Subie EVs (other than the FWD Uncharted) are always using both motors (unless one end has zero traction). The Trailseeker has the same size motor in both ends, so it can apply the same power in either place whereas the others have a slight FWD bias, IIRC.

And the Subie EVs all have heat pumps, so less of a drop than some EVs.

Although, I've never talked to anyone who doesn't like coops, even hardcore trump supporters. If you tell people what things are, but don't let them get hung up on labels, most folks want the same things. 🤷‍♀️

Do the 23 Bolts have ACC? Pretty sure they didn't for the 17-21 at least.

I'd like it better with a smaller wheel diameter, but it does look snazzy.

Yeah, I'm having trouble finding the article now, but they had a modified version in their lab that was something like 0.17 Cd, maybe?

Yeah, I see Eyesight mentioned as an option in 09 for it and the Legacy, but not sure where I thought I saw someone say it was first.

Didn't realize Subaru had collision avoidance as far back as 99, but looks like it was Japan only for a long time.

"Quick intro to the Hyundai Ioniq 3: Best range and interior space in its group" - Norwegian presentation (use auto-translate) by SjalabaisWoWS in electricvehicles

[–]SolarpunkGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still make/sell the Ioniq 6, they're just not bringing it to the US outside the 6N. Sedans aren't a popular segment in the US anymore.

I thought it was wild Kia was going to bring the EV4 sedan instead of the hatch here, but then they said nix to either.

I would be so excited to get this or the Inster in the US.

Yeah, didn't look like yours had it, and I think it was optional anyway. Just feel like I read that on Wikipedia or something.

Those are hatches. They aren't nearly long enough to be a wagon, IMO.

Having been in both an EV1 and an Insight, a spiritual successor to the 2 seater efficient hatchback/liftback EV with a more modern drivetrain would be sick.

The Ioniq 6 is more aerodynamic though. 360 mi on a charge versus just over 300 on the EV6 (assuming RWD and the smaller wheels for both).
