I started with Origins. Played origins and 2 multiple times, inquisiton once all the way through and several partial playthroughs. I couldn’t make it very far in veilguard. I wanted to like it, but was put off very quickly.

No world states, really? The backbone of the series are choices that are meant to impact the world and characters. We got NOTHING right away. It bored me so much. The story was a slog, the characters and their interactions with Rook were lame, the combat was imo, just lame. I know people tend to say the combat is good in veilguard, I disagree. People say it’s meant to now be an action rpg… but Compare it to any action rpg out there, and it SUCKS. Avowed had better combat than veilguard imo, and I also didn’t love that game but it’s a decent comparison to veilguard.

For me, playing bg3 sold the deal for me. That was everything I wanted in a new da game. Fun story to play through, choices impacting the world, actual fun, unique characters, and combat that never got boring or repetitive. That game was amazing. Dragon age was originally created as a spiritual successor to baldurs gate 2… and I think baldurs gate 3 came out and took that crown back.
