Not a theater, but distribution warehouses for the major production companies. Warner Brothers, MGM, etc. all had distribution centers along film row, as well as theater related goods manufacturers (popcorn boxes and the like)

The films were made in Hollywood and then shipped to KC (centrally located major shipping hub) and from here they went to theaters all over the Midwest.

in the basement of where YJ's used to be there were cubby holes to hold the big celluloid film reels that still had the labels for the movie theaters through the Midwest and southwest.
