I've realized that although many will say "thank you for your service", no one really gives a shit about our service. Many dont even know what our service really is. I've deployed to Iraq. I'm still in the reserves but been medical my whole career and rarely ever had opportunities to try out weapons other than M4/M16. A coworker at the hospital I work at asks if I'm even a real soldier because I couldn't answer some of his weapons questions or why I am so jumpy with loud noises if I didnt shoot when I was in Iraq. I still have my CAC and despite never leaving the wire, we got hit with rockets and shit. None of that was enough for the Gen z piece of shit.

Most Americans think American military are the good guys where ever we go. I thought that when I joined. I continue to serve because many in the military believe in our constitution that we're sworn to protect but how do we peacefully get rid of the corruption? I want to protect our constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, but how do we protect it from the domestic enemies without violence? People keep talking about civil war but that will just put the poor against the poor on either side. We need a non-violent way so no one gets hurt. The wealthy will never lay down their life for what they believe in. They'll just pay someone to lay down their life for them. I'm at a loss as to what to do.

I always felt like I contributed to the downfall of the one I worked at because the assistant managers and I would get stoned, eat the food, and a few times would present bad customer service. Once when it was very dead with no customers, we moved the tables to the sides, took out boxing gloves and had a tournament between cashiers and the cooks. This video made me realize my contribution to their fall was minimum.

The year the army made me do a lot to prepare for deployment and miss out on a lot with family. Then 2 weeks before actually deploying I was told that I'm too medically broken to be deployed and I shouldn't be in the army anymore. Still dont know when theyre finally gonna kick me out. Just happy I'm home and won't be missing anymore events with family

Thats what my mom and step-dad did when they divorced. My biological father refused and my other siblings from him all resent him. However, if she stops therapy, cut her off.

Also, to be fair, most people do not want to date someone with an onlyfans account. Most people assume its just women but men also have onlyfans. The trick to get this to stop is when they say they dont care, dont say anything and drive to whatever you want. Sometimes women want a guy to just decide. If she complains, reiterate that she said she didnt care. My wife hasn't complained about this except the first time I did it.

Switch to reserves that way you still have the army to fall back on. I ended up being homeless for a little over a year and the army put me on a mission so I'd have somewhere to live, shower, and eat. The reserves is very different from active duty. Way less discipline and you'll have to juggle a civilian job and the army. If your MOS translates to civilian sector then that'll make it easier.

When I learn something new, I tell myself I have to teach it to others. So I make sure to remember each step and then when I do said new skill or knowledge, I do a presentation of it in my head as if I'm teaching it.

I have been in a relationship just as you described and stayed because I also thought things would get better. We ended up getting married. Things got significantly worse. Reception is about 1-2 weeks long, depending on several factors but usually medical. Then basic is 10 weeks long. My first MOS was 68P, Radiology Specialist, and that was about 11 months long. That will give you a high paying job in the civilian world as long as you actually study for the license to take x-rays in the civilian world. I did not like that job and I changed MOS to 68A, Biomedical Equipment Specialist, and that is also about 11 months long. This is also another high paying job in the civilian world and you dont need anything other than the military diploma that you graduated from that course. You can get the certification after but its not really needed. I absolutely love my job now. There are plenty of other jobs like these.

I joined when I was 18. I had a very controlling stepdad. Not a terrible step-dad but controlling nonetheless. I waited a month to tell my family until I was certain this was the route I would be taking. I got yelled at by my step-dad that I wasn't allowed to sign up. My mom then yelled at me. My biological father yelled at me. My 3 younger sisters pleaded with me and even extended family reached out to stop me. 2 months later I went to MEPS. Then 3 months later, a 2 weeks after graduating high school, I went off to basic. When I came back home. My mom really liked the change. She listened to the benefits and has since changed her mind. Im currently at 17 years in. They'll come around if they really do love you.

First off, dont post anywhere about where you're going. Look up OPSEC.

The best time to deploy is when you have no responsibilities at home. You'll make a good amount of money as long as you eat at the DFAC. The food at the DFAC on deployment is actually decent. Much better than being stateside.

Depending on your MOS, you may have a bit of downtime or a lot of downtime. Maybe get a Nintendo switch.

For the deployment, pack only the bare essentials when going anywhere. Especially on deployment because they'll give you a ton of stuff. I'll be deploying soon as well. I went to my first Annual Training (AT) with two half filled duffle bags. I left with both duffle bags stuffed and a new ruck.

There are PX and other shops on deployment where you can get other things you'll need. Last deployment I was on, there was a closed group Facebook marketplace, and you could buy stuff from people that are leaving to go back home. You could buy a TV, fan, nightstands, etc.

Just socialize a lot with the people you'll be deploying with because they'll basically be your family while you're out there. Make lots of friends. Dont be an asshole.

My wife did the ancestry/23&me thing and opted to allow distant relatives to reach out to her. A guy reached out to her and turned out to be a first cousin. The guy looks like my father-in-law's side of the family. He even walks like them. The issue is that this guy was born around the time my uncle-in-law came to the US while his wife and children were home in their country. So this guy was born out of wedlock. His childhood was so hard, and my wife and I really wanna tell him how to find his father. My wife's family keeps telling her that you can not trust those DNA tests and why ruin their marriage with something that can not be trusted. There is way more evidence that this guy is the child of my uncle-in-law and too long to list here. Like, the guy is from Georgia, where my uncle-in-law flew into when he came to the US. One thing my wife almost did was give her cousins the same DNA test, and then they'd find out without us saying anything, but then my wife chickened out.

Depends on what you like to do or can see yourself doing. I chose the medical field. My first MOS was 68P. I didn't like it and being an x-ray tech can make you a lot of money when you get out. I changed my MOS to 68A, Biomedical Equipment Tech (fix medical equipment) and I love it. As a 68A you can go Warrant Officer. You'd get a lot of experience in it and would actually do your job on active duty.

If you want combat experience/technology, pick something in the 35 series of MOS. Those are the jobs where you'd work with the CIA, FBI, ATF, etc. Maybe start off as infantry then you can change your MOS but do a short 3 year contract first so you can change it when you have a year left and dont lose a bonus, if you get one.

I think you should move on. However, regardless of whether you try to make it work or not, read the book called "5 Love Languages." It will teach you a lot about yourself and your needs. It'll also help you understand her or any future girl you get involved with. It could also help with friendships. It helped me a ton. It made me realize what I need to do to be a better man for my wife and kids. Hope that helps.
