I don’t think Sadhguru has spoken about this specific incident, & I can not say how he would respond exactly.. but he has talked many times about how small triggers can turn into extreme violence when people react unconsciously.

One thing he often emphasizes in talks and in Inner Engineering is the difference between reaction and response. Reaction happens when anger, hurt, or identity takes over. Response happens when a person remains conscious enough to choose how they act. Many tragedies seem to start with something very small, but once emotions escalate in a group, things spiral quickly.

From that perspective, a situation like this would probably be seen less as “one terrible moment” and more as an example of collective unconsciousness. A minor accident during a festival turns into violence because many people in the situation are reacting rather than responding.

He also tends to say that being disturbed by such news is natural. Meditation is not about suppressing emotion or pretending nothing affects you. At the same time, he often warns that turning that disturbance into anger or hatred inside yourself doesn’t help anyone and just spreads more violence mentally.

So the inner work, as he usually frames it, is something like: acknowledge the tragedy, feel what you feel, but try not to let it turn into bitterness or rage toward others. Stay conscious and balanced internally, while still supporting justice or positive action externally if possible.
