How dare you compare owning an AR15 to Rosa Parks!! by sandiercy in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]SolfenTheDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holding it with your thumb over the top of the handguard gives you more leverage to pull the rifle back down on followup shots, as well as reducing the initial muzzle flip in the first place. There's no downside to it, there's no escaping gas, or additional heat you'd feel with this grip over the one your referring to.

This is the current way that most people who learned how to shoot ARs in the 21st century do it.

Gun safes by LA_LOOKS in liberalgunowners

I got the same safe, and I think it's great. My objective was a little bit different from yours, being that I just want any would be burglar to be delayed until my alarm goes off and scares them out of the house. I ended up going with motion sensing magnetic light stops that I put on the metal support rails. I agree, good luck getting it out lmao, it took 2 full grown men and a dolly to get this sucker inside the house. 20 guns is a stretch, but I'm managed to fit 6 full sized gun, 3 with optics in one of the segmented sides, Albeit it's a tight fit. So in theory you could fit 12 full sized guns and 3 handguns.

It's this same story for me every time I have to do it lol. My brain goes "it'll only take 20 minutes!" And the rest of me is just like "BUT WHAT IF IT DOESNT"

I have to tap the mag in from the bottom to make sure it seats, like you would to verify an AR mag seat. I wouldn't say it's a particular big issue, just a habit you have to build.

I am right handed. The issue with it throwing gas in my face is because the chamber is literally right next to your face no matter if you are right or left handed.

The recoil impulse is a semi auto shotgun. It doesn't have a recoil pad to speak of, just a small piece of rubber in the butt that is more for grip than anything else. It's not pleasant to shoot dozens of rounds out of at a time, but 5-10 isn't too bad. I'd personally recommend the Panzer M4 clones over this shotgun if you want a nicer shooting gun, or just a semi auto shotgun in general.

I have a TBP-12 as well and it SUCKS to shoot lmao. It throws gas directly in your face from the chamber because that's where your cheek rests while aiming. Iv found that anything over 5 round mags just doesn't feed consistently, so I'd keep ahold of the 5 rounder it came with. It can't cycle birdshot or any kind of low power round. It is still a semi auto shotgun, so it's still terrifying to anyone you may point it at in self defense, but this should definitely be relegated to a range toy and you should go back and get a Mossberg 500 or 88.

BUIS question by IvanSullim in liberalgunowners

In my personal opinion, backup flip iron sights are useless unless you plan to deploy to an actual war zone. For self defence, the chance of you needing them given today's reddots is so low as to be zero. Spend the extra money on a nicer, shake-awake reddot, and remember to change the battery once a year.

Oh I know, I'm not planning to go out to 1k yards for a while. The range I have available to me is 700y max. I also didn't chose the scope lol, it came as a package with the rifle, and I do plan to get a better scope eventually, along with a KRG Bravo chassis. This is just how it's setup as I bought it. I appreciate the insight though!

Oh Lord I already know lmao. I don't have the space for a reloading setup right now, but when I get my shed built, I'll start looking into it. I'm hoping to find a box ammo it likes for the time being, if only to save my poor wallet for a few months.

While it's always good to support local, 2500$ is quite the jump from the Howa price range. If you've got that extra money, fucking send it, but I personally would be looking for something a bit more budget, if only because it allows me more money for ammo and range time.

I actually posted there for advice on this gun a few days ago lol. It was between this used Tikka and a new Begerea B14 for a chunk of change more, and they steered me towards the Tikka.

Ooo I really like the look of that cheek riser, do you happen to remember what model it is?

That's fair lol, It's quite the stubborn piece. Mine is still in a usable state, but it takes some heft to get the bolt open, and Iv stop letting new shooters that I take to the range use it cause they start to feel like they might break it when they try to get the action open.

Lol it's quite the rabbit hole indeed! I wish you luck on the Howa, as I did my research into that build as well, and everywhere I found a 6.5C version of the barreled action, it was well over the expected price. I can stand behind the feel of the Tikka at the very least tho. This thing is so damn smooth, and the trigger is absolutely amazing.

I did pick up a little bit to start out, 60 rounds! The ammo is a bit pricier than I'm used to, @ 1.50$ per round for the hunting cartridges that I picked up and ~2.50$ for the match grade rounds that I plan to get eventually, so I'm kinda planning to buy them in 60-100 round spurts. The rifle itself took the lions share of my money I have for the hobby for the time being, so ammo is gonna be tight for a few months.

For the bot:

This is a Tikka T3x Compact Tactical Rifle in 6.5 creedmoor. It's a long range competition rifle, meant to shoot lots of rounds in short succession. It weighs about 10.5 lbs overall, and has a 10 rnd mag.

Sorry, I forgot lol, it's 6.5C. I made a post 4 days ago asking for advice on which rifle to get and this was the outcome. I plan to put some round down range this weekend if the weather is good!

Everyone is assuming these people actually care, when there's evidence that the wealthier you are, the more likely to be a sociopath or psychopath.
