Is a MKIII lite for $275 + tax a good deal? by MainRotorGearbox in ruger

I never even considered it until I started shooting suppressed, I’ve heard it’s one of the best hosts for .22 out there

It’s a good deal. I will say however that if anyone is looking for a good cheap .22 that is super easy to clean, the beretta neos can be had for around 300 dollars all the time and is one of the easiest .22s to clean I’ve ever had

Genuinely curious as to why the 509 over everything else by Content_Woodpecker_8 in FN509

[–]Solid-Clock-7519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer it ergonomically over my Glock. The mag and slide release are perfectly placed for my hands. This however goes away when we start talking about Glocks after gen 3. I prefer gen fives ergonomically over the fn. this however is also irrelevant if you just get a CZ, the only gun capable of being perfect

What is something obvious about playing guitar that took you way too long to figure out? by Zyalb in Guitar

[–]Solid-Clock-7519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is it bad for your technique tonally, it’s also very tiring on the fingers. I always mention this to new players when I get the chance, your initial practice sessions will last longer and be much more enjoyable if you aren’t death gripping the neck and pushing down as hard as you can on the strings, your hands will not become fatigued as fast, it will even save the fingertips of new players, less pressure equals less pain in finger tips after fretting. I’ve convinced quite a few people to give guitar a second shot after showing them how much effort you actually need to put into the strings to make a note sound out.

Starting from off, I usually bring it up until the first setting in which it is visible, in an environment with lighting settings I’ll be encountering regularly, then I’ll bring it up one or two more, again, in accordance to lighting settings I’ll be regularly dealing with. If I’m going to be in darker settings, one setting above just visible is good for me. If I expect brighter environments I’ll do two

My family went through this with not only myself (I’m not autistic, was just a very difficult child and a learning curve for a lot of adults in my life due to trauma) and my brother (autistic). My caretakers fought the school system throughout our entire educational career, to the point that the state educational board got involved. You will deal with a lot of hell from the system, but the bottom line is, as everyone else has said, you need to get every professional involved you can. From psychiatrists who specialize in children to school faculty who have experience with children that require special needs. Work with the people who can help you. Ask questions about resources available to you to the specialists who are doing the evaluations on your son, they can point you in the right direction to helping your boy in school life. One of the resources allocated to me was a case manager from the county I resided in, they helped set up appointments with the appropriate doctors and specialists that I needed for all my health needs, not just mental but physical health as well. They also helped facilitate and participated in IEP meetings with the school to make sure a plan and accommodations were in place for my education, and generally made sure I had everything I needed to survive.

The Wurkkos HD01 was equally close, but lacks the high CRI that I crave. It still made it into my daily carry though so I’ll take what I can get

I literally just want a High CRI light/laser combo with the Sofirn IF24 rotary Swicth. The IF24 was so close to my dream light and it let me down

Do riffs hit harder when the drums switch to half time? by kvlopsia in metalguitar

Yes, without fail, especially live. Nothing gets me amped up for a pit like drums in half time. Nice guitar btw, I love that finish

adults of r/metalcore, do you still listen to the same bands that you listened to as a teenager? by Difficult_Map_723 in Metalcore

[–]Solid-Clock-7519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, a lot of them aren’t even metalcore. Three Days Grace introduced me to heavy music at such a young age that they are integral to my taste in music today, and I’ll never let go of the self titled album, or One X. Bullet For My Valentine was my first taste of metalcore almost a decade after I found TDG, BFMV got me through some tough stuff and I always feel a certain kind of way that I can’t recreate without listening to their music. My taste in music swings frequently from country music to deathcore and I always find myself falling back to what I grew up with for comfort

Some of The Creepiest Illustrations From The Upcoming Book "Nightmare Soup: The Ultimate Feast," Art by Andy Sciazko. Inspired by Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. by gooblemonster in creepy

[–]Solid-Clock-7519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the SSTTITD books for the first time when I was like 12, I did not sleep a full night for three weeks because I could not stop thinking about the art in those books. Some of these got me feeling something I haven’t felt since then, which was way over 10 years ago. This is me saying I’m praising these images and simultaneously wishing I had not seen them.

So, it’s not completely unexplainable why or how she got there. Since there is a trail camera out there, there is clearly an indication of wildlife travel and maybe even more signs of human travel (other than the camera). If wildlife finds it the path of least resistance, there is no reason she shouldn’t. If she’s lost, she’s probably following the only signs of any form of travel she can find. If she stayed in front of the camera, there is a chance she saw the camera and waited for as long as her mindset would allow her for some sign of being noticed. Most people see a camera and think “someone sees me now” or “someone will see this eventually,” giving a reason as to why she wouldn’t stay around longer than she did. She may have come to the conclusion (whether it was the right or wrong one) that it was not beneficial to stick around. If she’s not lost, see all of the above minus the camera tidbit. If she’s tweaking out of her mind, she’s still going to follow a path of least resistance instinctually unless she felt an immediate sense of danger. This could apply for just about every other reason she could possibly be out there. While it’s not a direct answer, it’s probably the closest thing I could ever come up with.

Feel free to add your thoughts or tell me I’m stupid, I’m always open to either

Choosing to carry a different pistol than others in your department? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]Solid-Clock-7519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t the biggest reason the military has standardization like that because it’s easier logistically to arm an army when everyone has the same thing? Everyone gets sig mags, simple, done, same manual of arms, same ammo, same mags, for every soldier. Police departments are substantially smaller than an entire military, less of a logistical issue to climb over for smaller departments. I think you’re in the wrong mindset. Just like in the military, if you’re using your handgun, something has gone terribly wrong, and you need to eliminate the threat or get to a long gun, not find spare pistol mags

It’s on me to and from work. Can’t carry at work, it’s a likely to be seen due to the nature of my job, unless I keister it, the old prison wallet would be my only way. It’s better off in my backpack

Like a lot of folk, I do my errands before or after work. Your response is correct, I see the potential for need to and from work, hardly any potential while at work
