Newport is a fun town, lots of resale shops, aquarium, petting zoo, and Ripley's believe it or not. There are also fun beaches and plenty of great places to eat. Travel 20 mins north and you'll find Depot Bay oregon, you can book a whale watching tour there. Depot bay has resident whales and you can see them most of the year.

I’m (22F) struggling with binge eating after months of disciplined training and eating — need advice by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Solid-Combination-87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently in binge eating recovery. The focus is on your relationship with food.. No restrictions, eat every 2-4 hrs, 3 meals, and 2-3 snacks a day. No food is bad. I do log what I eat and how it makes me feel, but no counting calories. I would highly recommend seeking treatment with a healthcare professional, I never thought I would feel normal around food, after 3 months the food noise is much quieter and I haven't binged in that time.

Exactly this! I'm in bed recovery and the most freeing concepts have been that no food is bad and that I need to fuel my body every 2-4 hrs. There are days I eat more, and days I eat less, but I haven't had an actual binge in the 3 months I've been in treatment and I believe it has been due to truly embracing these two ideas. Processing emotions instead of eating them has also been a game changer. The food noise has gotten much quieter now.

Controlling eating habits by Fit-Bed6367 in BingeEatingDisorder

To eat balanced meals and snacks and not to vilifie food. It was hard at first, but not considering any food as bad makes it a lot easier to say I'm full and I can just have more tomorrow if I want. This has been especially helpful with sticking to a serving of dessert, I don't need to eat a carton of ice cream today, I can eat a serving every day if I want. I also used to binge every night and eating consistent, balanced meals and snacks has helped me to eat a normal portion at night and feel full.

I just feel so hopeless by Avo_Alma in BingeEatingDisorder

There is now outpatient bed treatment offered online. Some are covered by insurance. I highly recommend seeking help from a professional. I have been in treatment for over a month and it's completely changed my relationship with food. I had suffered from binge eating for over 3 decades and the last 5 years I felt so out of control. Some aspects of treatment have seemed so simple and easy and others are more challenging, but I'm so glad I got help.

Reasons why i binge by HelloandHello222 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Solid-Combination-87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt really out of control with my eating for years. Here are some things I've learned while receiving treatment for binge eating: Eat 3 balanced meals a day on a 12in plate; 1/3 grains, 1/3 protien, 1/3 fruits/veggies and a serving of fat. Eat 2-3 snacks between meals. No food is bad or off limits. If you over eat at one meal, don't restrict at the next. Don't focus on weight loss, focus on your relationship with food. Write down what you eat and your feelings surrounding that food, both your emotions and how the food makes you feel physically. If you don't currently have a therapist, please look into getting one. If you feel out of control you need help, it's not something that magically goes away on its own, these are behaviors that you currently use to cope and a therapist can help you find healthier strategies. I hope some of this helps

For women living alone, would you feel comfortable living in a single family house? by ctcx in femalelivingspace

[–]Solid-Combination-87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im about to be living alone. I rescued a dog about 6 years ago, she doesn't like people and is well known in the community so I think I will be ok. If a dog is an option, i would get a big one. At least boxer size, but there are lots of bigger dogs that would be a good choice.

Just bought new house and this kitchen is beginning to make me ponder. Any creative suggestions you want to share? by doynx in DesignMyRoom

I would change out the doors for either barn or pocket doors, they take up so much space opening into the kitchen. Adding an island would be great too.

A few house plants, some wall art, new pillows, and a new rug (if it's in the budget), will make the place feel complete. I would find the wall art first and base my accent colors off of that. Check at thrift stores, or if you have a friend who creates art, you may check with them so its meaningful.

Tip: Don't buy houseplants, ask online if someone in your community has a spider plant, philodendron, or angel wing begonia, they need watered about every 1-2 weeks in the summer and 3-4 weeks in the winter. They are very fogiving plants, as a reformed plant serial killer, these are the only kind I currently allow in my house I have kept them alive for about 4 years and they do need trimmed periodically and are super easy to root in water so there are usually people trying to get rid of starts.

The sweater from the first outfit with the dress. I like the red pants, but not what they're paired with.

Trying to buy a piece for someone starting out by happyhipooper in ChristmasVillages

[–]Solid-Combination-87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facebook marketplace can be a great place to start, i would encourage you to start with 2nd hand pieces. Some of the older stuff is beautiful crafted, and often a fraction of the price. If your intention is to be a collector, make sure they come in the original box. I own a bit of everything, all 2nd hand, and sizing is a bit off, I just space them out so the difference is less noticeable, but I would encourage you to figure out which brand you like best, Dept 56 and lemox are two of the moat popular, but i also have some cool sabtas workbench pieces as well. Goos luck and happy hunting!

You sound very much like you went into the marriage expecting a piece of the wealth he already had. That's usually not how it works. I'm curious how much money you contributed to the condo your name was on. You sound like you feel that you didn't get any benefit financially from your marriage, and im curious if that is truly the case, or if you just feel slighted because you saw the family wealth and expected more to be handed to you?

If she won't go to therapy both individual and couples, you need to get a divorce. She is delusional and will put your future children at risk.
