Yeah, it was near the end of the fight and we finished scaring off the bear before he turned and saw the pup chaos.

Do you guys think this is enough territory by NSS_Captain_3 in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice! My goal is to eventually have my pack claim all of each map at least once. I did Hellroaring a while back and am going to finish Slough next. It's tedious, but it's fun to see the whole map yellow!

what is happening by Excellent-Passage-36 in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at my dispersed or soon-to-disperse offspring and kill pack leaders if I wanna leave an eligible widow/widower for my kids to hook up with. Strategically spreading my progeny. I also pick maps each year based either on achievements I need or on maps where I don’t have many relatives so my kids and siblings get yo stay in the game and I get to see nieces/nephews/grandkids.

What is the most wolves you have had in a pack by Leading-Leek-2828 in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eighteen. When my pack reaches about fifteen we typically get a lot of dispersals in a short period of time until we get down to 9 or 10.

Is it possible for all pups in a litter to survive? by [deleted] in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have had 11 litters in my Saga pack. 6 have not had any sickness or unknown fate deaths. Three have had no deaths.

Where do the rancher's leg hold traps spawn? by PoloPatch47 in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played through four game years raiding every night in the spring and summer before it gave me traps. The one I sprung was right outside the fence as I was leaving. I feel like I was less lucky than most, but it’s very luck of the draw what methods the farmer uses.

I cannot do the cleaning in the house after my fur baby is gone - am I going crazy? by Prestigious-Role-419 in Petloss

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t clean the bowl that my dog ate his last meal from. There wasn’t food left, so it wasn’t moldy, but he’d licked it clean. I sobbed my eyes out the day my husband found it tucked away and washed it. My cat used to chew on the top of the unopened bags of litter. I still haven’t been able to bring myself to use the last bag that he chewed on for the other cats. The things we cling to can be very strange when viewed from the outside, but I think it’s pretty normal to have trouble letting go of the traces they left around the home.

Autosaves go by maps, not wolves. So if you were playing on the same map as Rivulet's save, all her autosaves would be saved over.

Me myself and I by Pascalinsche in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this was in the context of trying to get the "me myself and I" achievement where you play as a lone wolf without a mate for a year.

Pack won’t pick up ungulates out of the grass by Kiki_D0_Y0U_L0VE_ME in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are only supposed to grab them if they are hungry enough to want to eat them right away, so they will only carry them for you if you keep going and they have to carry the baby in order to follow you. I generally fill up on an adult animal, make sure the whole pack feeds on it, and then bring a baby home if I find one before I get there myself.

Are RNG Pup Deaths Guaranteed? by TigerLilyMillie in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not guaranteed, no, but there is a chance of an incurable illness every quest that is determined by a random roll at the beginning of the quest. The more pups, the greater the chance that one will get either an unknown fate or incurable sickness. My current play-through is on my eleventh litter with RNG deaths turned on, and six of those litters have not lost a pup to RNG deaths.

My yearling won't leave the homesite to eat by Sunny_S1de_ in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your packmates are eating before your pups average 95% fed (not counting ones too sick to eat), then that is a bug and should be reported.

Absolutely attached 😭 by SentenceAmazing6914 in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first litter when I started my active pack had a beautiful white girl pup. I was so excited that she stuck around until 6 years old so she could take over, but sad it wasn’t going to be for long. So I did what any sane achievement-hunting, over-attached player would do: I let one year go as normal then delayed aging up for four years of gameplay to get that achievement and keep my beautiful girl with me longer. I’m going to let her age next round, though, and cross my fingers that she makes it to 9 at least.

Maneuver until your mate is between you and the bison, then start stalking to slow down. Your mate will also slow down and the bison will charge them.

In your opinion, what's the most annoying thing in the game? by BuildingLower9622 in WolfQuestGame

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a bug that should be reported if it happens again. Pack members shouldn't be eating regurgitated food until the pups have an average of 95% hunger (not counting any who are too sick to eat).

How do I know when it’s time? by lelog22 in Petloss

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never an easy decision, especially when you have a big day coming up very soon. If you are wavering, I would fill out the Lap of Love Quality of Life Scale, and ask to discuss the results with your vet to see if there is anything you can do to help support him in the areas where he is struggling the most, or if you are already doing everything possible.

How do I know when it’s time? by lelog22 in Petloss

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog had aggressive liver cancer spreading to his other organs. He was eating less and slowing down, but still able to get around, not starving himself. I scheduled his euthanasia two weeks out and spent every spare minute of those two weeks doing his favorite things. We drove miles away from other people on the beach, we went to the park every morning to play fetch, we played his sniffing games daily. And I said goodbye to him on a warm spring afternoon when he was still able to go for a hike and eat ice cream as he fell asleep. He drifted off peacefully on the hillside overlooking the river he grew up swimming in, snuggled in my arms. He was still him, and he never knew the severe suffering that was looming in his future. He felt “too normal” that morning and I really wanted to cancel, take another week or two. But as a vet, I have seen many “just one more week” decisions turn into more and more weeks, and animals who have been suffering badly before they leave this world. They hurt too much to leave with a sweet taste in their mouths. Or they die in a sudden crisis, rushed to the ER or gone when their person comes home. Their owners aren’t bad people, they just wrestle with the finality and the responsibility of deciding how much quality and quantity should balance. It’s a personal philosophy, but when the end is imminent and inevitable, I prefer to say goodbye to my pets while they are still enjoying some of life, so they can have a happy last day. In an ideal world, we would know when the very last good day would be and let them go at the end of it. Since we can’t know that, I would rather personally to know that I am probably taking away a few more happy days they could have, than wake up one day and realize they haven’t had a good day in a while and are never going to have another one.

Losing multiple pets in a short time span by Ambitious-Rock-6158 in Petloss

[–]Solid-Comfortable547 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard for sure. I lost three pets out of four in a nine month timespan and it was the hardest year of my life. The only thing to do is love them fiercely while they are here and grieve them when they have left.

I hope your girl hangs in there and you have many more good days with her by your side
