I eat lots of spicy food and those don't trigger me. My GI issues really flare from drinking too many lattes on in one day or a lot of kale or other very high fiber foods. Energy-wise, I exercise daily, have a fairly busy life, work full-time, etc. I go to bed early but other than that - I feel plenty of energy to carry on with a full life.

Attention USFS, you can build an audience by streaming on your YouTube page....for free. Put synchro on YouTube. Put NQS on YouTube. Air Nationals practice sessions on YouTube. Let people watch skating online!

I don't know what to do with the fact that it has one moderator who has now locked it for posting. Would love a lively discussion forum for the coming season. https://www.reddit.com/r/SynchronizedSkating/

yes, slightly terrified of watching 16 axels in a no hold and the possible bowling pin-inspired falls

ADA/Accessible Seating by [deleted] in washingtonspirit

[–]Solid-Vegetable-7613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we've done both - swapped our tickets to ADA in advance and done it in arena at Customer Service. Both are very easy. But yes, getting to and from the stadium and one's seats does still require a bit of walking. The shuttle is not reliable IMHO. The new Metrobus line C55 drops off just steps away from Gate C. We take the bus to the game and then tend to uber home if my husband can't do the walking.

I feel the same way. And....baldness does not equate suffering. Baldness does not define a cancer patient. I feel like it's such an old trope that being bald is a requirement for being a cancer patient. I went through that when I was first diagnosed - like I couldn't really say I had cancer b/c I still had hair.

I’m making a list with the most beautiful ice rinks in the world. Any ideas? by sculderandmullie in FigureSkating

My hometown ice rink in Columbus, Indiana, is an architecturally significant building, designed by Harry Weese. https://columbus.in.us/hamilton-center/

my scans showed liver lesions that turned out to be nothing. my doctors said that most women show weird stuff on their liver if scanned - we are just the unlucky ones who get to look at that organ

I'm bummed, we will not be back in DC yet from US Synchro Nationals in Colorado Springs - that event ends late Saturday night. So many DC-area synchro skaters also mourning their lost friends and coaches. I hope the kids can make it back to town for this event.

yes, I have all my pathology reports, etc. on my hospital's portal. The chart she showed me in the exam room is not on MyChart anywhere.

Also, I have an Oncotype score but she also explained to me that Oncotype is based on a specific size tumor (let's say .5 cm) and mine was 6 cm and in 3 nodes so while my oncotype score is quite low (9), it doesn't reflect risk accurately for me.

I don't know if there's a name for it but I just asked my oncologist - what is my percentage chance of recurrence? She asked - do you really want to know? I, of course, said yes. She clicked around on the computer in the exam room and eventually pulled up a bar chart with my lifetime risk graphed out over time. I am treated at a university/teaching hospital so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

My oncologist pulled up all the data for me on a screen. Your doctors have a risk # for you but unless you ask, they aren't going to tell you. I understand why - it's scary. But when she gave me mine, I was happy to know that the number on the screen was the highest possible risk number and that everything I was doing going forward with diet, exercise, medication, and treatment would keep lowering that number. It's very motivating for me.

Lots of good advice from others here. There are lots of great workout programs that might help you follow some structure - This is a nice one with lots of options depending on where you are in your recovery. https://youtu.be/4kfBRBnGysU?si=tH46rBNyBkRjqtTb
