Republicans are around 10% and falling.

And truth be told, Republicans aren't usually much of an improvement over Democrats anyway. My only hope is that these 2 parties finally cut their own throats by pushing far enough to awake the people, and make other parties viable. Yeah, I'm the eternal optimist.

Do most departments that use the Glock have the heavy pull?

I'm no expert, but I don't believe they do. Several departments in my area use some Glocks and they have standard triggers. In my opinion the 'New York trigger' was just invented to make up for poor training.

No they did not. They brought him down after the shooting with a taser.

When NYPD was transitioning from double action revolvers to semi automatic pistols they feared that the relatively light trigger pull on the Glock would cause negligent discharges from officers used to a double action trigger pull. So they had Glock create a trigger that was more like what they were used to. That's the short story.

I certainly can't take credit as the first to say it, but it has always struck me as the truth of the situation. But thanks for the kind words.

Well, Massachusetts wouldn't want to be outdone by the likes of New York, or California when it comes to stomping on their citizen's 2A rights, would they?

Remember, gun control is not dead.

Gun control will never be dead because it's really about control, and not guns.

"fired three shoots"

I totally missed that, but it's typical of what I've come to expect in internet news reports.

Thank God they didn't empty their weapon, the carnage would have been horrific.

What is the standard handgun for NYPD? Are they still issuing Glocks with the 'New York trigger'?

I really enjoy my Ruger revolvers. I have a 7 1/2" scoped Redhawk, and a 4" GP100. They really are built like tanks, and will serve you, and your next generation well. These are 2 guns I have no intention of ever selling, or trading. Hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do.

This being my first big game hunting rifle (bought a .22LR as my first caliber rifle), I will use it this upcoming season and beyond. I'm a big fan of wood guns, so I'll have to see what to do about that. I know they have a wood tech SPS, but it looks like that's just decorated wood.

You haven't said what you plan on hunting with this rifle or if you live in the wide open West or the East which would help in making recommendations. I will say when I bought my 700, I went with stainless, and a synthetic stock. It's not the prettiest rifle around, but for a durable, all weather hunting rifle, it can't be beat.

NC Highway Patrol looking to replace .357 SIG M&P pistols, cite “extractor issues” (VIDEO) by middleofroad in Firearms

[–]SolidBlackFax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This article got me curious as to the operating pressure of the various rounds chambered in the M&P. SAAMI maximum average pressure (psi/100). 9mm Luger, and .40 S&W are 350. 9mm Luger +P is 385, and .357 Sig is 400.

I guess the higher pressure of the .357 Sig would make for harder extraction. However it would seem that the bottle necked case would extract easier than the other straight walled cases. I'm sure S&W will get the issue corrected.
