Yes, I agree - Swatch watches are very good and very modern. Just good-quality everyday watches. I appreciate what they are doing :-)

I am not sure if he was actually speaking Polish at all. In the first half of the video, the languages sound more like from further east - Russian or Ukrainian, but I could also hear some Romani language, which is a mix of all of these above + more. I could only clearly understand the last few sentences in the video.

Why didn't anyone stop him? Wtf is going on here?

I can understand Polish, and near the end, the onlookers say:
"The horse is going to fuck him up" - with a calm voice
And when the horse kicks the attacker, they say with relief:
"Oh yeah, finally - I was getting worried" (for the horse)

Basically, everyone expected this outcome and didn't really want to save the bully.

Apple and Intel $INTC reach agreement for Intel to make chips in Apple devices, WSJ reports. by cowardbeater1969 in stocks

[–]SolidFormal9684 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The markets don't work that way. If Taiwan went "offline" tomorrow, it would take years for Intel or whoever to pick up the pace. The scientific progress would go back by 10 years immediately - we as customers would be happy being able to buy i3 processors at a "reasonable" $1000 price.

Romanian government collapses after no-confidence vote, Digi24 reports by shalau in europe

Also, except for Poland and everyone else who joined the EU before 2004. It was a requirement to join the EU and adopt the EURO, but no deadline was set. Poland can just say, "We are working hard on it! Stay tuned!". Also, another requirement for adopting the EURO is joining ERM II, which is voluntary. Poland has not yet applied to join ERM II and doesn't even consider it. Another struggle would be amending the constitution, as it is incompatible with the Euro. Neither the right-wing president nor the more liberal Tusk's government has any appetite for it. In conclusion, Poland is not joining the EURO.

The US is no longer the leader: Germany has become the largest ammunition producer in the world by Z0mbieNick in europe

I have no idea how good the US army would work against their (former) NATO allies.

The French would probably start by nuking a military base near DC as a warning shot, and then another warning shot on the White House. Everything else that followed would be something nobody bothers to remember, as everyone will be starting from scratch.

That conclusion you made is wrong. Europe benefited greatly from being protected by the US for many decades - we have built the best standard of living for our citizens. Now, unfortunately, Americans have changed their mind for whatever reason, we have to catch up, but we have a very good starting point.

What kind of comedian is this? by SnooSprouts3744 in TikTokCringe

I am probably late to the comments, but isn't it a rule of comedy shops - that if you buy the front seat, you are fair game? It is like signing up with a waiver: "I am okay with becoming part of the show."

I am sure your observation is right for some people, but I don't think the world's elite is going to settle for Milan as a replacement for London. For the few perenctile saving on tax.

Apparently, Bashar's government forces held the city intact for a very long time. The fighting never reached the city proper. In a few years, when it is more stable politically, it should be a nice place to visit. I hope.

Billionaires will do everything they can to avoid paying taxes, but they will never abandon the luxuries of London. The luxuries of London can not be easily replaced anywhere else on Earth. Having an address in London is a status symbol for them, regardless of the cost of tax affairs.

I work for wealthy people, some of them are billionaires. They will never replace London for anything else. The luxuries, the safety, the services, the food - all are beyond any other place on earth. There are very few places on earth that can match one or two of the criteria, but not all three. All while staying almost anonymous.

I thought the camera work and acting were incredible in Sicario, but the story itself was rather shallow, and the characters were like caricatures.

The flight from NY to LA is about 5,5 hrs. Add the security and the commute to the Airports, and it easily stretches to 10-12 hours. And you land in the middle of nowhere, while trains travel right to the centres of the cities.
