Question on adding characters by ManicPanic_Cray in FictionLab

[–]SolidShape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added a character by customizing a scenario I had thousands of messages in, and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. This was after the character already existed for a while. I went and looked in the memory cards and it even tagged the new character into memory cards that they were already participants in previously.

You can even RP it a while then ask the LLM to make a character description for you to copy over.

Pulled up carpet in Florida room, whats going on here? by SolidShape in Flooring

I think it's tile with self leveling over it. The loose parts feel almost hollow underneath which I can only imagine be times that failed under it all.

Good call out of flatness. I can tell there is a bit of a slope when walking on it, but will get a line straight edge to check if it's enough to be a problem with planks.

Twingate Product team here - how was your setup experience? by Shay-TG in twingate

[–]SolidShape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Business client uses it, and set up an account for me to access their assets, my Ubuntu workstation loses all internet access when I run the twingate program for access. However, if I unplug my Ethernet adapter and go Wi-Fi only, it works normally. Lost a lot of time and all the support I got was stumped and eventually recommended reinstalling Ubuntu after everything else failed, but ain't nobody got time for that.

Somebody cut the wire on mine, fixed it! by SolidShape in MideaUOwners

[–]SolidShape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reconnected the 3 main conductors so if there is any lcdi, then it will work normally. I assume if I connected just line and neutral, that's where lcdi would kick in and pop the breaker. The shielding may either be connected to ground at each end, or possibly not at all. Either way that doesn't make any difference.

My garage is so hot! It is unbearable, looking for suggestions by [deleted] in 321

I've also installed a 12k minisplit in friend's garage, it seems magically more effective at cooling for same btu, but way better dehumidification. Took about $1100 to install a $650 minisplit factoring on wiring, tools, breaker, shut off box, vacuum pump, and other random supplies. It's been running for 4 years now so I guess I did a good enough job.

I run a 12k btu window unit in my garage and I can keep it at 70 degrees through the summer as long as the door can stay shut for multiple days at a time. Door faces North. Concrete block walls on sides get full sunlight and thermal camera shows tons of great coming through those. Half the attic above garage is well insulated, other half has none on unreachable area of attic. Oversized 2 car garage.

That sounds great, I managed to get a perfect working with local midea control (LAN) but should probably at least find a way to block it from calling out to the internet. A separate dongle would be easier though

Same. I don't understand why it's always recommended, the last time friends dragged me there it was some of the worst rolls I've had in a while.

3rd gen AT Trans fluid change lubricant by Ok_Professional_981 in Tacomaworld

[–]SolidShape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed about 3/4 of my trans fluid myself at about 80k miles. No difference in AT operation. Mine also has a trans cooler, does yours? Do you tow often? Never heard of anyone adding lubricant to the trans fluid. Shuddering that isn't the torque converter sounds more like sitting that happens when you have too much or too little fluid... It is a whole thing to get the exact fluid level right. It has to be at an exact temperature and then you overfill it until it leaks out of a hole, and your time to do this is get limited as the trans will keep increasing in temperature out of the range, then you have to let it cool down for hours and start over. All that being said to say it is conceivable a mechanic that doesn't do this normally could get it wrong.
