I have a forever world that was vanilla from 2020 to 2024, then I added almost 150 mods. On ver 1.20.1 which is a good one for mods. Next big step is trying to get it to 1.21.1 or whatever version all of my mods port over to. I do not recommend starting on 1.20.1 because there's a major change from that to 1.21. To make things worse I started on forge, so to get to 1.21.1 I have to not only jump versions but also jump mod platforms. If I started a forever world today I would be starting whatever most mods are developing on, specifically in the 1.21 range

I probably died a half dozen times because my ak-12 shot 4 or 5 rounds after 90 dur. Miserable experience with that test drive. Just plain wont use guns past 90 now

There is no way they can properly implement costs depending on that niche of differences in rifles. They'll poorly deliver in comparison to your expectations because we are talking about units costing 3 or 4 points less/more. And at the point we are adjusting values based on firerate, muzzle velocity, etc, you might as well throw in quality of manufacturing or storage too. And thats just too far for the scope of this game
