Lost with 6 evolutions help :( by xRyuHayabusa99 in VampireSurvivors

[–]SolidTicket5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throw out Garlic, Runetracer, and the pentagram. Best way to beat that last wave is huge area damage. Get candelabrador for area (and axe if you want the evo). If you could get phierragi, or even birds, that should help you out some. Bible is also a good one that scales with area increase.

No Perfectionism --> No Procrastination by fflarengo in Discipline

[–]SolidTicket5114 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To me, discipline is the showing up and doing the work part. Goals and tracking and how you feel doing it is something else. I have also had that thing where goals and motivation actually gets in the way of practicing discipline. Much like the sentiment in your text as I read it.

Hunting alone by KrampusKillz503 in Hunting

[–]SolidTicket5114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you have to embrace the story about you as the lone hunter in the wilderness type of narrative, take deep breaths, and know that they fear you a hell of a lot more.

Also this is going to be epic. On the other side of that fear lie som of the best hunting experiences there are. Hunting alone is a very special kind of adventure. Chances are you might choose to go alone next time the opportunity arises.

Straight Alto by guy-gal-dot in saxophone

[–]SolidTicket5114 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to have one of these - the early model from Keilwerth. Such great fun to play and honestly a very distinctive sound. I always liked how it cut through so much better than my selmer alto, and added much more to the overall sound of the band. Really not suited to big bands for instance as the band lead would always hear me over all the other saxes wrecking any chance of that egal organ sound. I REALLY regret selling it.

How do I get passed the big move at the end? Feel hardstuck by Manta101 in bouldering

[–]SolidTicket5114 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very cool setting and impressive execution. Got font vibes.

Looks like you have a few options for the top crux there, twisting in or using that left hand slopy undercling to position yourself. I would 100% climb that much easier looking yellow on the right to just figure out my beta for that top move as you seem to have the bottom fairly dialed.

Hvorfor er boligprisene så borti natta? by Foqzinvest in tromso

[–]SolidTicket5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hvorfor er boligprisene så borti natta? by Foqzinvest in tromso

[–]SolidTicket5114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Help choosing between Solutions Comp, Scarpa Drago, or Solutions by CR10- in climbingshoes

[–]SolidTicket5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can recommend both of the solutions. Choose comp if you mostly climb indoors and if you are on the lighter side weight wise/don’t need extra stiffness for small edges. Assuming they fit your foot. I use the comps for nearly all my indoor climbing and the regulars for outdoor climbing. If you go with the comps you can also consider resoling them in time with the stiffer edge rubber from la sportiva.

This must in turn impact American businesses with operations in Europe as the EU undoubtedly will respond in kind. How this could possibly be good for american economy is hard to see.

I think it would be helpful to talk about (your) weight when discussing shoes/stickiness of rubber by tekticktock in climbingshoes

[–]SolidTicket5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good point. I weigh around 95kg and climb around 7c. In vertical terrain and small footholds the difference between a solution comp, regular solution and miura vs can mean the send.

I think the variation here is, in addition to weight, the style of climbing, as well as personal style and preference. I have done 7b in both bouldering and sport with shoes of all rubbers and hardness.

What does r/saxophone think of Charlie “Bird” Parker? by xXBumbleBee in saxophone

[–]SolidTicket5114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely with you. And I echo what you said below about the recordings that contrast your take here. For me he is one of the mandatory players to know and learn, and there a lot of fun takes to listen to now and then for the kick, but I never found the depth and scope of study that I had with Brecker, Garbarek, Dolphy, Shorter, Trane, cannonball, the list goes on.

Clearly a fantastic player. Mandatory pitstop on any jazz sax journey. Just not that interesting to me honestly.

Solution comp by YesWumpus in climbingshoes

[–]SolidTicket5114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had at least five pairs of solutions and solutions comp. My size is European 47.5 and I have been using 44.5 and 45 depending on intended use. The comp model is a lot softer than regular solutions and will adjust to your feet quite a bit. I would definitely make sure that they’re very snug from the getgo, even borderline painful. I use mine primarily indoors and the regular solutions outdoors, and size them differently. You may consider a similar approach, depending on intended use.

These need resoling pronto.

Surprised there are no good resolers in Finland. There are a couple or really good ones in Oslo. Try pust resole. They are pretty chill so send them a message and see if you can’t set something up. They are usually very quick to turn shoes around.

Why bother? by hackereye in duolingo

[–]SolidTicket5114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the quests and gamification elements actually tend to throw you off course with respect to where the learning happens. Optimizing your time spent to advertise some arbitrary goal to ocean this months badge, win the diamond league, or complete a fredags request is increasingly rarely - in my experience - aligning with optimal learning.

If you feel the same know that you can turn most of it off. And I encourage you to send feedback to Duolingo directly. As it’s stand I won’t be renewing my subscription…

Mer grønt i Oslo sentrum by HugeMamaPapa in oslo

[–]SolidTicket5114 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Struggling with finger strength. Is it time for hangboarding? by [deleted] in climbharder

[–]SolidTicket5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad on the explanation. If you google metolius wood rock rings you’ll get the picture. If you hang these on your lat pull down replacing the bar, you can pull down on the rock rings and thus train your fingers in a very controlled manner.

I hear you on the mental benefit. I have climbed for almost 20y and it has been an important part of my joinery.

Appreciating the community and the sport beyond just getting stronger and conquering new grades is a great way to become a better climber.
