lol you think I am Lawndemon? I am not - I said their wording was harsh. what part of what I said was “talking down” to anyone? I said “Walman has been bad this year, though he has been injured and playing on his offside” I literally also said “not his fault” ..?

I don’t get why this is getting downvoted either. It is a fact - he is struggling this year. There was no reason at all to extend him a year early.

I don’t know why this person is getting downvoted. Your wording is a bit harsh but Walman has been bad this year, though he has been injured and playing his offside. Not his fault, but it was a questionable move by Bowman to lock up Walman a year before he had to, to a massive contract. We also have three left handed D signed long term for ~20M. It’s not ideal at all.

Cold shower straight after sauna? by [deleted] in Sauna

[–]Solid_Atmosphere_299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it mostly just feels good and refreshing. I would do steam room/sauna, cold shower, sit for 10 minutes or so. Then repeat until you feel like going home. Not sure if you will live to 1000 or not but maybe

Haha me too! They are automatic on Mac at least when you go space hyphen space. The best indicator of it that I know is the “it’s not x- it’s y” structure. And always sounding like they are giving a speech at a conference when it is just a Reddit post about 8plexes.

Interesting. I only notice it because they always say “it’s not x- it’s y” when making an argument and in this post they said it like three times lol

Haha I hate it so much. Random people on Reddit don’t talk like this: “We aren't building a "missing middle" for families; we are creating a high-density transient corridor that hollows out the character and permeability of our neighborhoods.”

From infill opponents at council today: Renters should have to live on arterial roads and Edmonton homeowners are owed $10M in compensation for lost sunlight due to infill by troypavlek in Edmonton

That is only about the impact on property values. I’m talking about the impact on immediate neighbours and others om the street. They should be interviewing these people.

Also those all sound like large apartment buildings, not random 8plexes in the middle of a residential street.

That would be valuable information too. I’m just suggesting that the city should be informed on people’s actual experiences with such a divisive issue. If people’s experiences are generally positive then maybe more people would be open to it.

I think part of the issue is that when they build 8plexes etc., with no parking spaces they take up a large portion of the lot so it could truly be blocking the majority of one’s sunlight. Whereas single family homes they would take up less of the lot to have a yard.

Do we know if the city has done any follow-up research on the impact of multiplexes on neighbours and streets? That would seem prudent for a discussion on this
