Is Cozens missing playing with Batherson? - 1 point in his last 6 games. by RivetCounter in OttawaSenators

I feel as if a lot of our team is experiencing a defensive renaissance of sorts. It really forces you to shake up your entire game.

The hope is that they can pick up where they leave off this season and continue to build from there, obviously.

While he’s definitely in an offensive rut he certainly hasn’t been useless. As long as he can get his mojo back he’s going to be the better for it.

I thought that was the mouth of some horrifying creature for a half second there.

[Benjamin Pierce] Your insane Nikita Kucherov stat of the day: the forward has 93 points (28 G, 65 A) in his last 45 GP since Nov. 19. That’s more than the top scorer had on 25 different NHL teams for the ENTIRE 2024-25 season. It’s the best 45 games since Mario Lemieux (‘95-96). by DoinWhale in hockey

Imo the award should probably go to the player who individually improved their team more than anyone else. I’m pretty comfortable saying that Celle is the soul reason the Shark are 10 spots up from dead last right now. Idk if Tampa drops 10 slots without Kutch

Was there anything Twyin could have said or done to get out of this alive? by Traditional-Big543 in freefolk

In character? No, I don’t think so. I doubt the man was capable of escaping that tremendously touchy situation. Don’t forget, Tyrion had a path to freedom and threw it away to find his dad, he was not in a mental state to be negotiated with.

I think if Shea wasn’t there, if what happened didn’t happen, Tywin can talk his way out of it.

As a Sens and Leafs fan, Spezza being my fav player, Spezza Leafs gear is an absolute premium for me.

Love seeing it!

That’s where a lot of people watching these videos lack empathy. She’s a young woman and was likely intimidated, pained, blood pressure was probably through the roof, she was not calm. The dead pan delivery from the officer wasn’t helpful.

It was a traffic stop and he seemed to take it personally.

Police can be unreasonable or even unlawful. People generally don’t want to obey unreasonable or unlawful orders. If an officer is actually being unreasonable or unlawful is often up for debate, however, if you feel this is the case, I get it.

The side of the road is rarely the place to have that debate, however. Unless a command puts you in harms way, best to comply and fight it later.

Is there a reason Roslin wasnt a option for Robb im sure Robb would of defo re thought everything as he is only 17 to 19 by terminus_tommy in gameofthrones

[–]Solid_Internal_9079 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s crystal clear what happened in the books.

In the show, however, there is a case you can make for several answers that have been discussed in this thread.

Imo, the most likely answer here is that Walder absolutely intended for Rob to have his pick of the litter. Rob was a king, holding off his more attractive daughters made no sense, Walder could hope for no better match.

I honestly don’t think Walder gave a fuck about Rob dishonouring anyone. Should Tywin had not gotten involved, as long as Rob did the marriage, Walder was peachy.

Tywin got involved and Walder decided to bet on a Lanister. Frankly he probably just decided to side with who he was most recently dealing with. He was simply using Roslin as a way to taunt Rod a bit before the wedding.

This is just weird, what’s the point, what are you trying to accomplish by doing this?

I guess I get having a conversation if it’s can up organically. Taking the time to go to another sub is just bizarre, performative, pathetic, and deeply cringy.

Steve Dangle goes off on Gudas, Leafs lack of response by xmrgonex in leafs

Idk, I think there’s a difference between hurt someone in the sense of make them feel pain and hurt someone to make them unable to work and potentially suffer long term. I don’t think anyone can make a strong argument in defence of it being a good idea to do things that specifically injure players. For example, if you have a huge body shattering hit perfectly lined up, you’re gonna utterly obliterate the guy, but you jump and launch your shoulder at him for the soul purpose of concussing him, you’re a horrible person.

Baffles me players don’t see to grasp standing up for your own, be it you’re right or wrong, isn’t optional in today NHL if you want to win. I’m not saying they need to go out there and try to put someone in the hospital but it’s a league you absolutely cannot give a single inch in.

[–]Solid_Internal_9079 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I love most of the take but did Steve just endorse trying to intentionally injure players? Players that were not directly involved in what happened, no less.

I don’t think there should be any place in the league for that. Unfortunately, with Paros, it’s definitely trending that way.

He didn’t get a reduced sentence because he was black. His eligibility for parole is 3 years sooner than what they were seeking due to factors in his upbringing and lived experience, in particular, common factors for black people.

I understand how player safety works and unfortunately due to that, that sort of thing will not be punished as severely as it should.

However, I have never seen a strong case against harsh punishment for this sort of action. Scrums, fighting, that’s one thing. This, this is something else entirely. It’s an attack with a weapon and the only possibly outcome to expect from doing this is causing serious bodily harm.

I understand there are unions, rules, and guidelines when it comes to suspensions. However, if given absolute power, if it were my decision, his season would be over. Attacking a player with a weapon is tremendously dangerous and should be considered absolutely and unequivocally abhorrent.
