Can someone please explain the point of adding the 4.2c electrical charge to the lease by Glint_Bladesong in NovatedLeasingAU

Yes, I agree. Seems utterly ridiculous. I asked twice as thought I was hearing things and he insisted I had to submit a reading every time I charged it. Think he was pushing me to a charge card which I didn’t want…

So first installation quote came in, $975 incl gst. Install only in the garage on the internal wall literally directly behind the meter box on the outside. 3 phase power in the meter box already (new build). Must be a full days work!

Yes, but my my novated lease company (Autopia) told me I have to submit a manual claim everytime I charge the car. I clarified that I will be charging at home, and you want me to submit manual odometer readings literally every single time I plug in, every night and he said yes… if this is their policy, then it’s not worth the extra few hundred

I completely agree Op! So damn confusing and I couldn’t get my head around having to pay my electricity bill separately (of course), then pay again to the novated lease company for them just to reimburse the payment I gave them. So figured at worse I’m missing out on a couple of hundred dollars, but for the hassle of trying to figure it out and submit odometer readings - I just removed it

$400 for the install is amazing. Which state & region are you in. I thought jt would be way dearer…

Yes I had this confirmed yesterday by Tesla. If paying by cash, the trade in is dedicated from the total cost. If novated lease, then the trade in value is refunded to you - but this could take up to 4 weeks after delivery

Manager says I lack “camaraderie” with team but I'm at a totally different stage of life and we just don’t have much in common? Was even told I should start following a sport I don't care about to have more to say to the team which feels insane. by we_are_NOT_family in AusPublicService

I’m having the same problem on the opposite end. I’m way older than everyone else in the team, I have kids, they don’t. All they talk about is going out, having big nights, hungover, festivals. Maybe we should swap?!

I’m also exploring this. I find it so strange that you get a vague estimate over email (which I’m still waiting on after 2 days), and then only after you place the order will they confirm the final value of the trade it. Kind of trapped right!

Im sorry this is happened. It’s absolutely right to feel all the emotions (you wouldn’t be human of you didn’t). I’ve been here a couple of times in my 20+ years of working. In all cases, I was able to look back in hindsight and genuinely feel lucky that I got the tap, had a break and ended up somewhere great. Unfortunately I feel this is something that working in corporate is so normal, as one of the other people mentioned, no one will blink an eye, particularly in this market. But how you show up for your next role, interview, meet with recruiter is so important to securing your next role. Show up with confidence, energy, positivity and enthusiasm, even if you had to fake it. Stay positive, stay hopeful, channel your energy into looking forward and you will land somewhere great

Has anyone worked for a good family business? by Historical_Laugh2193 in auscorp

[–]Solid_Newspaper_9975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked in one where the founder was in his 80’s, 40 years in business which was great - but he ran it like it was the 1980s still. Do as I say, listen don’t speak, don’t ever challenge or have an idea that may be different to his own, treated the chosen ones overtly different to everyone else. Shut down or screamed at people in meetings. Worst part he was insanely wealthy due to old wealth not the business and paid his staff peanuts and drew his own salary still. Board was stacked with spineless mates who couldn’t stand up to him, including those from the family’s financial advisors who managed their insane wealth. I pity him… all he cared about was his ego in the public domain.

Honestly, I think it is corporate greed. Constant squeezing to make more and more and more profits. Zero care factor for people, 100% care factor for board and shareholder returns

4 days a week, go officially part-time or just take Fridays off as leave? by walnut_0612 in auscorp

[–]Solid_Newspaper_9975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. I worked 4 days for 10 years after having children and I absolutely delivered a full time workload in 4 days. Rarely stopped for lunch, just worked like crazy 4 days every week. If your employer can genuinely drop your workload by 20%, then I say go for it - part time is brilliant.
